"The technician that came out was very professional and friendly. The job was done precisely and quickly. However, the service fee was astronomical for the amount of work performed. Edit: Added details and changed from 3 stars to 1 It's been a few weeks since Roto-Rooter was out and I have some updates. The original service was done on Saturday the 6th of January . The call was for our sewage line P-trap by the front curb being clogged and gurgling out debris. We wanted to call a different service but it was a Saturday so we opted to have them come out ASAP. The tech "seemed" professional and quickly unclogged the trap. The service however was over $600 for what was around 4 minutes of unclogging the pipe. He scheduled for a camera tech to come out Monday to inspect and warranty the work. A technician came out with a camera to inspect the line the following Monday (the 8th of January). This service, although free, was less than reassuring. The technician arrived, and shortly after called my cell phone. I missed the call but looked out the window and saw he had the camera down the line already. I quickly put on my shoes and jacket to meet him, but as I approached, he was already packing up and did not want to set things back up. The technician stated the "P-trap had separated and it would need replaced with a new modern T." This was fine, however I didn't see any of the work he performed. I'm very hands on with this type of work so I always want to know exactly what I'm looking at. Either way, they gave us a quote and left. Not happy with this, I scheduled a follow up with Horizon. When their technician arrived (1/23/24) and learned that Roto-Rooter had been out first, he warned me of their shady business practices. I agreed that the follow up did NOT seem thorough enough. The tech briefly inspected the line and confirmed the previous techs probably did not do their jobs properly. He scheduled for a camera tech to come out and thoroughly check the line that same day. A few hours later, their camera tech arrived and checked things out. Not only was their technician much more knowledgeable, he actually seemed like he cared. He showed me that the previous technician probably had trouble getting the camera very far into the p-trap and gave up after a few feet. This tech confirmed that the trap was indeed in disrepair, but that wasn't the only issue. He spent a few minutes working the camera into the line and finally hit the main run from the house. The entire length of 100' cast iron had rusted and rotted out at the bottom, eliminating the correct pitch angle and causing things to get clogged and blocked. After confirming the entire line needed replaced, he then went into the backyard and fed the camera down the line at the back, confirming more rust, and more blockages (all while I stood there and watched as he explained everything in detail.) This told me two things. The original technicians from Roto-Rooter had no clue what they were doing, OR, just wanted to get the job done quickly without being thorough. The second thing is, if they had come out and replaced the p-trap, they either would not have caught the rotted out pipe at all, or would have found it last minute which would have increased the repair price astronomically. The professionalism of Horizon Services reminded me that not all big name companies are as trash as Roto-Rooter. Not only will I NOT recommend Roto-Rooter to others, I will actively DISCOURAGE anyone from using their serviecs."
"The guy was wonderful. I hired him to set my toilet in because every time I did it, it leaked.... Well, it turned out that my toilet was cracked.. He could have charged me much more, But he gave me a break which I really appreciated!! We will be calling again and would recommend to anybody!"
"Roto-rooter came to the rescue and did a great job. I had a clogged pipe running to the septic system. Al the technician explained what can be done to prevent these issues in the future. Great job guys!"
"Way over priced. For clog clear out and over priced for estimate for new sewer piping. If I could give them a 0 star review I would. Guy kept going in different spots told us one price and it was more at end costed us 647 dollars. Would never use them again"
"The company kept me up to date on when my repairmen would be getting to my home and gave continued updates throughout. The repairman was awesome and let me know of all my options that I had and was upfront with the cost of the repairs that I would need. Gave great recommendations of what needed to be changed and repaired. Will definitely be using them again for any plumbing needs and will recommend them to anyone that needs them!"
