"Very fun trail that stays flat almost the whole way. Most of the trail is a paved path, and a little of it it dirt. Very nice views and scenery to see along the way. The trail is always cleaned and well maintained with hardley any trash or other random things along the way. Depending on the time of year, it can get quite busy but not enough to turn you away. Becarful of side paths along the trail, most of which lead to private property. No matter the time of year, this is a great place to come take a walk or bring the dogs out."
"Nice walk on the towpath with cliffs rising up over the canal."
"The house is private property near the mill, and the mill is not open or in working order. It is the "gateway" way from the parking lot to the c and o canal trail here, which is now open to dam #4 since mid-2010. it runs along the Potomac River, and from this starting point, you'd go either way a more than a few miles before you're back on the traditional c and o, which is separate from the river."
"The trail to the right has been recently redone and follows a beautiful boardwalk along cliffs, and there’s even a small cave. There were lots of people biking and fishing, and even someone trying to climb the rocks."
"Beautiful place....right now you have to walk down....they are expanding the parking area. Beautiful waterfall to the right...the mill is awesome...river is also there but they are doing construction on a dock....I would lease your dog...not a good place for kids due to construction."
