"We found a place on Johnny Popper road to park and easily walked on to the trail to the viaduct. The viaduct is impressive and it was worth the walk across to see the fall colors. If you have time, walk along the trail past the viaduct. It's level and quiet and this time of year the fall colors are beautiful."
"It has been twenty years since I was in the area. I came to take photos of the Autumn Foliage that surround the Bridge. It was foggy, but when it burned off, tge colorful visa surrounded the bridge that I stood on."
"Beautiful views. Found it high up to walk on but watching bike riders go across made it seem easier will give it another try sometime"
"In August 2022 my wife and I visited some friends in Somerset, PA. We had some free time while they were at work so we visited some local points of interest, one of which was the Salisbury Viaduct which is part of the GAP (Great Allegheny Passage) Trail. The viaduct was easy to find, but when you pull off of the Mason Dixon Highway (Bus 219) you will want to follow the road slightly away from the viaduct to the point where there is a hairpin turn. The gravel road (Johnny Popper Road on Google Maps) will lead to a flat place to park. From there it is a short walk to the GAP Trail and the Salisbury Viaduct. The viaduct was completed in 1912, is 1,908 feet long, and rises 101 feet above the ground. A sign near eastern end contains photos and history of the viaduct. The views are amazing along its entire stretch and include U.S. Route 219 to the north and south, the Casselman River Valley, a farm, and rolling hills as far as the eye can see. We lingered here for quite awhile taking in the beautiful sights. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!"
