"My family enjoys working out and spending time here. I love the fact that my kids and can exercise with my wife and myself and we enjoy playing ping pong and air hockey as a cool down. The personnel are friendly and very helpful and I recommend this gym for families to get healthy together. Also, don't forget about the pool under the temperature controlled dome."
"Staff and gym have been great. If you’re looking for a gym to join with your family I would recommend. If you are a little more of a gym bro then maybe not for you."
"Very clean and they are having a Halloween scavenger hunt for the kids which they got a kick out of! Staff were l incredibly helpful, we are new members and they were patient with all of my questions and the kids questions, especially about rules in the pool area. The lifeguards were patient and very knowledgeable!!"
"What do I like about the Y in Pasadena, EVERYTHING!! The pools are wonderful. The classes are led by amazing instructors. The Y is a great place for fitness but more importantly as a warm, engaged community partner."
"This is our favorite Y location. We go between this Y and the Y in Arnold. We use this Y for daily work outs, swimming, and occasionally use their parents night out. The staff is mostly friendly, except this older lady that works the front counter. She is always real grumpy and kind of rude when we come in. We love their outdoor pool. We love the different sections to help break up older from the younger. It’s also very large so there is more space to swim and lay out at compared to the other Y we go to. We use their racket all court to play volleyball. They have the net and ball available to set up a volleyball court. It’s a lot of fun. The negatives: majority of the gym equipment I use (the arc machines) have broken hand grips. The plastic surrounding the whole section you are supposed to hold is cracked and pieces missing which makes it very uncomfortable to use the machine. I have submitted multiple requests to get it fixed to the staff and all they do is put up a sign for that day and then remove it. It has been a year now and they are still broken. We spend a lot of money a month so equipment should be better maintained. If it can’t be maintained properly then they should be removed so they don’t hurt people. I have gotten hand cuts from the broken plastic before I knew they were broken. Another negative is they offer very minimal child activities compared to other Ys. They have one of the largest pools but they don’t offer swim lessons, other Ys offer dance programs for kids and this one doesn’t. This is a big facility that could accommodate and offer more for the youth. Update: I came again to see if they had fixed the machines I use (it’s been a couple months since coming last) and all 3 of the arc machines were broken in some way. One was completely not working (incline and resistance didn’t work at all and the start up was all the way reclined. This is on top of the handles being cracked and broken). Then the other 2 Arc machines had really badly broken handles. It’s sharp and not comfortable when trying to use. I would frequent this gym more if they properly maintained their equipment. These are the only machines I can use due to medical issues and I might have to cancel if they can’t fix. 2nd update: visited again and they fixed one of the 3 arc machines. Thank you to whoever did it. I also see that one machine has been partially disassembled and repair is in progress. Big thank you!"
