"Perfect activity to celebrate an anniversary! Bob and his team were so helpful throughout the whole process from booking to arriving back to the take off spot. The balloon was beautiful and the basket has plenty of space. The skies were really clear, so we got to see the mountains and the sunset. Would absolutely return for another adventure. Thanks Bob!"

"I rarely give ratings below 3 stars for a bad experience but I had to write this review to enlighten my experience riding with Bob. Firstly let me write the positives: 1. Bob was easy to reach over phone and he was responsive 2. Safely landed us (Even though on a country road) 3. Having Joe to help him Negative Experiences: We were a party of 3 and I booked the balloon ride to celebrate my wife’s birthday. This was supposed to be a pleasant surprise for her but turned out to be a unpleasant experience with Bob. I had an injured finger and a cast on but I still helped Bob to set up the hot air balloon which requires a decent amount of physical help. I was constantly being yelled at, for not following his instructions clearly to help him setup the equipment (This help with the equipment is something I did out of courtesy as Bob couldn’t hire enough people to set up the equipment).I had a small birthday banner tied to the base of the balloon which irritated him (he was okay to have it before the flight). My wife brought a ‘single rose’ I give her, to the flight and this bothered him very much. He wasn’t talking to my whole party during the ride but he was happy to narrate and speak to a white couple who were with us during the ride. He talked to me like someone who was working for him instead of treating me like a customer. The only time he was nice is when we got back to our destination and I handed over the money. Joe, the other person who was working with Bob was nice and made our experience slightly better. I think this feedback on customer experience might not effect Bob, but people who want to celebrate an occasion, people of color, and/or who have women in their group should look at other options to ride a balloon. I should have read the bad reviews, and the way he treats people before I made this reservation. I am still giving him 2 stars for safely landing us and having Joe in his team."

"I took my father for a hot air balloon ride as a birthday gift and it was a really fun experience. I recommend booking early in case your appointment needs to be rescheduled like ours did due to the weather. Bob and Joe were both skilled and knowledgeable and the other passengers were friendly too. Most importantly, I felt safe the entire time. We spent 45-60min in the air (depends on the winds). I enjoyed seeing the process from start to finish. Tips: Expect some physical labor to help with set up and clean up, wear comfortable boots for walking in potentially tall grass/mud, bring sunglasses, and bring ear plugs if you're sensitive to noise. We didn't actually get to see sunset from the sky but the weather and views were great, 5/5 stars!"

"I was contemplating on writing a review, but I think I could potentially help someone in the future. First, I had our session set for Thursday at 5pm but since we were the only couple going it was rescheduled to Friday. This caused a bit of distastefulness as we drove from Ohio to get childcare to go on the hot air balloon ride for that day. Friday, the day of the event, the other couple had already cancelled which in turn made us pay an extra $250 for the ride so total $750. Bob has you go earlier because they need you to help set up the balloon, which is OK if that’s what you want to do, but we paid $750 to celebrate our anniversary. You would think there would be a team to help assist. Kevin was great, but Bob has very dry sense of humor that isn’t pleasant. Landing the balloon is not planned. We ended up landing in a random person’s yard, and Bob gave them OUR champagne bottle with his business card. At the end, you still must help them with the balloon, repackage it, and load it back up. I thought I went with a professional company having a real team, setting up, putting it all away at the end, but that was not the outcome. I know Bob has good reviews but check out the bad ones and his response back to them. Very unprofessional and honestly all reviews were 100% spot on about him and his business."

"Wow! Just did an evening flight with Captain Bob last night and it was spectacular! Bob and his assistant Kevin were personable, professional, safety focused, and prepared. They were in constant contact with wind reports, each other, the local airport, and had clearly experienced eyes for where and when we could lift off and land. This was a very delayed Father's Day gift to me from my two adult children who joined me in the basket, and we had such a blast! The views were spectacular, and it was smooth going up, and very stable and smooth the entirety of the trip. People in the town and buildings below came out to wave at us and take pictures and we laughed and waved to all of them. The ride was about an hour, and we touched down in a grassy area, just short of one of Virginia's battlefields, again as smooth as stepping off a curb. Our compliments and gratitude to Captain Bob and Balloons Unlimited, and to the weather gods who provided such a beautiful evening for the journey - This was a super happy family adventure to remembered for decades!"
