"Arrived at candlewood just before midnight, after driving 7 hours with two kids. Front desk personnel are polite, professional, and very helpful. Was bright inside lobby, quiet outside hotel, and a safe, family friendly environment. Room was clean with two beds, kitchen, and bathroom. Definitely my new stopping spot when in the area! There is free breakfast in the mornings as well."
"Stay was 20-25 August 2023 for business trip. Overall, the hotel grounds were nice, however, I did see many big dog owners who did not pickup their dog’s pop like required. They are normally the ones who won’t. I don’t prefer hotels that allow pets. Also, there was a huge dog that would bark when you walked past that door on first floor and start another little dog up. I saw two cats in two different rooms in the windows. Someone like me with allergies has no chance in a place like this. Room was okay, nice to have a kitchen but there was a food smell, that I think was in the back of refrigerator that I could not get to that would flare up when the room door was opened. I sprayed enough but never got rid of it. Walls kind of thin, because one night, I felt like I was part of a couple’s conversation (him on the phone with her) and I could have given him some pointers. Thank goodness that lasted an hour. Breakfast had hot and cold and was good. Vents were dirty which I had to clean; housekeeping needs to check better before stating a room is ready. Overall, it was a quiet stay, their social not much to go to, great parking, walked the park across from hotel, convenience of being on post. However, pets will push me off post."
"Spending two and a half months at the Fort Meade Candlewood Suites was like living in an episode of a sitcom where the main character discovers the joys and challenges of hotel life. Let’s start with the room. It was a cozy, snug sanctuary that made me feel like a modern-day Goldilocks - everything was just right, especially the bed. That bed was so comfortable, I’m sure it was plotting to make me miss all my morning appointments. The kitchenette was where the real adventure began. Contrary to my initial impression, it boasted a small two-burner stove, challenging my culinary skills on a daily basis. The pots and pans provided were just the tip of the iceberg. The real gem was the ‘lending closet’ downstairs. This magical place was like a mini kitchenware boutique, offering everything from blenders to waffle makers. It was like Christmas every time I descended the stairs to borrow something - a true culinary treasure hunt. Cooking in that kitchen made me feel like a contestant on a reality cooking show, minus the dramatic music and celebrity judges. I was whipping up everything from stir-fry to pancakes, growing bolder with each dish. The satisfaction of cooking a full meal on that tiny stove was akin to winning a medal in the ‘Hotel Cooking Olympics.’ The staff at the Candlewood Suites added to the charm. They were so consistently friendly and helpful, I started suspecting they were part of a secret society dedicated to excellent customer service. Their smiles were infectious and made the place feel even more like home. The location of the hotel was the cherry on top. Perfectly situated between convenience and tranquility, it was a serene haven after a bustling day. The proximity to Fort Meade added a sprinkle of intrigue, as if each stay came with a free spy novel. In summary, my extended stay at the Candlewood Suites was a delightful blend of home-like comfort, unexpected culinary adventures, and a staff that could brighten even the gloomiest of days. Would I stay there again? Without a doubt, and next time I’ll be ready to take full advantage of that lending closet from day one!"
"Housekeeping gets a zero. My stay was for 2 1/2 months; five of those weeks, housekeeping forgot to clean the room. Two times, I notified the front desk that the room wasn't serviced. They said they'll come later. Even by the next morning, no follow up. Resorted to washing my own towels - Staff is friendly- rooms are comfortable - breakfast is good - Housekeeping, strong no. Even the hallways often had trash left behind. Housekeeping isn't a courtesy; it's a service that is being paid for by the guest."
"Everything has been great! The room is clean and well maintained. Feel totally safe being on base and I love the scenery. This is not the first time staying in a Candlewood on a military base; but I have to say the peacefulness of this one is welcomed. Thank you for all you do for those that serve and their families."
