"I called in the morning about an adorable injured bat I found, and a few short hours later, I received a response letting me know I could bring it in. So many other rescues didn't take bats, or they claimed they were bat rescues but didn't offer up rehabbing services. Once I arrived with the bat, they wisked it back to the incubator and an immediate check-up. Annie, who I spoke to on the phone and who greeted me, explained what would be happening and gave me the bats ID # so I could check up on it. She answered all of my and my 5 year old's questions with complete patience. I'm so happy someplace like this exists in the world! Donate if you can, they do such essential work."
"Woodlands is amazing! When I plan on trapping a fox with mange I contact them up front and they’re happy to take him if I can get him. Everyone is always so nice and wonderful helping our wildlife in need. Thank you for everything you do"
"To Anyone Who is planning to bring an innocent animal here, please be aware that you are bound to be in shock and disappointed. You might think that an animal will have a chance at this refuge but, lo and behold, your animal might be euthanized without your knowledge and without an explanation of why they did this. I brought a perfectly healthy baby squirrel here. I have lots of pictures even ones that were taken the morning of the day that he was taken to this so-called refuge. I am, quite honestly, in shock of what I thought was a "refuge" but, instead, I brought an innocent animal that was killed right away. No one truly knows what happens when an animal is dropped off since they do not have any "proof" that the animal is alive and well. For those that have given the excellent reviews, my question to you is: How do you know if your animal survived or how they did after you dropped them off since you never had the opportunity to see them again. There is absolutely no proof that after you drop off an animal, that animal will be ok. I feel deceived and lied to and so are the rest of the individuals that saw the baby squirrel alive. I am beyond heartbroken and feel tricked by this operation. My case had to be heard so that others think before leaving the animals at this facility."
"This wonderful facility and the amazing folks who work there will renew your faith in humanity. My mother found a sick and injured orphaned baby bunny in her backyard. After calling several facilities over the course of 2 days, Woodlands Wildlife Refuge was the only facility to return our call. A couple of other facilities answered when we called them, but their instant refusal and rushed, irritated tone made us feel like we were inconveniencing them and it seemed like they couldn’t get us off the phone quickly enough. However, all of our interactions with the folks at Woodlands Wildlife Refuge (from Melissa on the phone to Melody in the admissions area) was so patient, so kind and so compassionate. After gathering some basic information, Melissa told us we could bring the bunny to WWR right away. My very warm welcome by Melody at the admissions door made me feel like I was leaving the tiny life I was carrying with me in the best hands possible. There is no doubt that these incredible people do what they do out of a profound love and respect for wildlife and out of the kindness of their hearts. Thank you, Melissa, Melody and everyone at WWR for everything you do each day. You have our love, support and admiration."
"Amazing place . I rescued 6 baby squirrels that fell from the nest . They recommend to leave them their for a few hours to see if the mother would come back… long story short she didn’t . And woodland took them in . Thank you so much for what you guys do"
