From the moment you walk in, you can smell the enticing aroma of fresh dough and savory tomato sauce. The cozy atmosphere makes you feel right at home. I recently enjoyed a New York-style spicy cheese pizza from Verona and was thoroughly impressed. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside yet soft and chewy on the inside - the ideal NY texture. The sauce struck the perfect balance of sweet and tart. They use high-quality mozzarella that melted beautifully over the pie. This pizza had just the right amount of spicy kick from the crushed red pepper flakes sprinkled throughout. Each bite gave a nice subtle heat that didn't overpower the other flavors. The cheese and spicy seasoning blended wonderfully for a harmonious pop of flavor. Equally important as the food is the friendly service. The staff greeted me promptly and were happy to offer recommendations. My order came out quickly and piping hot. Considering the generous portions, quality ingredients, and stellar service, the prices at Verona are very reasonable. "Ordered from Verona tonight. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, cheese garlic bread, a cheese pizza, steak and cheese Stromboli, and a side salad. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they came out of the freezer. The garlic bread tasted exactly the same as the garlic bread you’d make in a microwave, and I’m pretty sure that’s where it was cooked. The pizza was so bad my six year old wouldn’t eat it. But the kicker is instead of a steak Stromboli we got a calzone filled with ground meat and unmelted cheese. The meat was clearly from a sack in a freezer because it was a puddle of grease on the undercooked bottom of the calzone. Absolutely revolting and wouldn’t have been worth it at half the price."
