"I have always loved MLC and their partner locations but today I left feeling a bit duped. I got the jambon beurre sandwich which was at the counter and wrapped in deli paper. After tax it came out to about $18. When I got back and opened it, there was only 3 thin layers of ham and the butter, while delicious, was just globbed throughout the sandwich, not evenly spread at all. I love butter, but mouthfuls of it is a little overkill. I'm all for european style grab n go sandwiches but typically, they are less than $10. When I saw the price, I figured that this would be an above and beyond version. What I received was disappointing. At the pricepoint, I would recommend visiting their sister restaurant Onion City Chicken and Oyster and getting a fried chicken sandwich for a couple bucks more."
"Great little market. They carry a lot of cool snacks and items you don't really see in conventional stores. This shop has some real personality and we got some delicious fresh bread. It often carries hard to find products and food from local businesses and they have fantastic baked goods. It is located right along the Winooski Circle so I suggest parking a few blocks away in a free spot and enjoying the walk. It's stores like this that make me proud to be a Vermonter."
"SO disappointed. This is the most money I have ever paid for fried chicken in my life -- and I've lived in very expensive cities and frequented plenty of pricey spots. $68 for a whole fried chicken is exorbitant. But I would have been okay paying that much money -- I mean, after all, I paid in advance (sadly) -- if it had been at least decent fried chicken. Our meal wasn't ready when we came at the appropriate pick-up time, and that apparently was because they were leaving it in the fryer for an extra 20 minutes or so in order to burn it through and dry out the meat entirely. I assumed, of course, that we had a decent take-out meal, and didn't check on the state of it before we drove an hour home. Imagine my surprise to look see this As per the accompanying pictures, be forewarned before you pay SIXTY EIGHT dollars for a burnt, dry fried chicken. They should never have put that in a bucket to serve to paying customers. For SHAME, Misery Loves Company. You certainly lived up to your name by providing us with quite an inordinately miserable meal tonight."
"Absolutely the BEST food we've had in a very long time. Misery is a definite MUST place to visit. The food was excellent and so delicious. We sat overlooking the chefs preparing the dishes and it was a truly unique experience. The menu changes everyday as all meals ingredients are from local farmers (farm to table) and everything we tried was very flavorful and so mouth watering. The staff were really wonderful and engaging and ensured we were comfortable. It was a true culinary experience."
"The food and drinks were fantastic, however the wait between the time we were seated to the time we were served was over an hour. I understand the kitchen staff may have been busy, but maybe it's time to hire more folks? 5 stars for quality, and attentiveness, but 1 star lost for food prep time."
