Weathervane Motel

"I booked a room and when I got there they had no running water. I went to dinner and came back 2 hours later and they said the plumber was going to come back the following morning. I told him I couldn't stay with out a working bathroom. The owner said why don't you sleep here and take a shower in the morning and I told him that's not going to work. He told me to call Expedia to get my refund. When I called Expedia they cannot get in touch with him as he will not pick up the phone. Expedia will not refund my money. I'm very disappointed. It is a fairly rundown hotel with very musty smelling room. Had I looked at the reviews before I booked it I never would have gone there. Buyer beware!"

"It’s a mixed bag. Is it old and run down? Yes. Is it worth the money? Yes. It’s quaint, reminding you of your grandma’s house… a little musty, but not offensive. Was her house perfect? No. Is it the cheapest place in town? Yes. And that makes it worth it. I didn’t feel unsafe or unclean while staying there."

"When I arrived I was told by the manager that the room numbers beyond 10 were removed temporarily because they were painting. The manager gave me the room key for 14 and said go to 10 and count the doors until you got to 14. Simple math right? The key required some jiggling but it worked and I let myself in. 10pm I'm about to fall asleep and I get a knock on the door from the manager saying I'm in the wrong room, there's someone else waiting to check in to this room and wondering how I got in. A- Apparently they don't have a room 13 but that would have been nice to know when he told me to count to 14. B- Apparently some keys will work for multiple doors if you jiggle it enough which was not a comforting thought. Room was a good size but the bed was collapsed on one side and very uncomfortable. Stains on the carpet. The wifi was not listed anywhere in the room and physically had to go to the main office and ask for the password but that was a minor inconvenience. Would not stay here again"

"You do NOT want to stay here. This place may have been lovely 5O-60 yrs ago, but those days are over. Other than a relatively new swing at the entrance, everything is rundown or shabby. Two of the lamposts bordering the drive are bent and broken. I walked the grounds several times, and got the distinct impression that the rooms that are taken are filled with people who live here, who have nowhere else to go. There was a car parked out front with two flat tires. Everything needs to be repainted. A sad situation...not a place you want to stay while visiting this otherwise lovely town."

"No microwave just a small fridge. No Wifi or continental breakfast as advertised. We got here at 2:45pm check in is 3pm, there was no-one here to greet us we had to call, they told us to wait 5-10mins they never showed up until 3:17pm. There is also no common area or ice on location, no trash can either. The room smell like mildew. We stayed in 21 and had to struggle to open the back door. We had no convenient parking so we could see our own vehicle we woke up to finger prints all over the car glass like someone was peeping in. No one stayed on location I havent seen any house cleaner my entire stay"
