"Dollar general is a great store to have in a lake town like Schroon Lake village. It has a little bit of everything, beach supplies, food, things that you forgot to bring on vacation that you need to pick up. And all at a reasonable price. The people working there are very friendly and hopeful. And they have a Redbox out front! It's become one of our regular stops on our vacation."

"About a year-and-a-half ago I was in Arizona and the group I was with stopped in a Dollar General. I had typically stayed away from Dollar stores as most of my experiences in the past had been places where everything cost just a dollar but was full of a lot of junk products. I was rather impressed with the store I went to in Arizona and so upon my return back to South Jersey I looked up a couple of the Dollar Generals that were in my area. I drove a bus load of kids to the Snow Camp at Word of Life and got a phone call from them one afternoon saying they needed duct tape and that there was a Dollar General Store a little bit north of where we were staying. I Googled it to see exactly how far it was before I decided whether or not I was going to go or whether I was going to look for another similar store that would have been closer. After seeing a couple different options though and my past experiences from Dollar General I decided to try the store out and see if they had the duct tape that I needed. Upon arrival to the store it was good to see a large parking lot that had already been cleared of snow that had fallen previously in the week. As I gazed around the store trying to decide which aisle to go down it was a little difficult as none of the labels on the aisles mention duct tape but fortunately I did find it without any problems. Upon going to the checkout counter the young lady there was very friendly and bring me up in very short order and I headed on my way to deliver the duct tape to the group. It seems like it is a nice store and not just some place that sells a bunch of junk but it sells products that are not big name brands but they are probably just as good as if not better and a lot cheaper."

"Staff is very pleasant. Always there to help. I asked if they had any kiddie pools . Needed for my baby geese. Haven't been able to find one in the area. They didn't have any out but the girl went in the back to look. They had some but hadn't yet taken any out on the floor. Left with a pool for my birds. Love shopping there on any day but love that they went out of their way to help me out on this visit"
