"I recently picked up Black River as a distributor and I was instantly disappointed. To start, it look a while to get signed on, like two weeks longer than other distributors. Communication with my sales rep is about a 2.5, a handful of times he just wouldn't respond to questions at all. Because of this I ended up calling to see if a rep there could better answer my questions and it was instant attitude. The website layout is poor with very few photos, when I asked my rep about how I could see the products, I was told to google them which is hard to do when many products don't have brand labels. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised how quickly my order arrived but all the produce had major issues. The cucumbers seemed to have been previously frozen as when I placed them in my refrigerators they began to sweat, a lot then within hours they went from firm to soft and wrinkled. Over 60% of the apples were bruised and began rotting within 3 days of delivery and the corn tastes like water... it wasn't sweet, just zero flavor. I spoke to my rep about this and I was told I would receive credits, I called yesterday which is days later and there are still no credits on my account. I started to browse on the website to see what I could use my credits for when I do get them and I noticed a lot of stuff has doubled in price making it more expensive to buy from Black river than it is to buy the same product in a store, it doesn't make any sense at all. After see all of this I called accounting now twice, both times no answers, no calls back. If you need produce just go to the grocery store, it's cheaper and likely the same poor quality."
"Your driver making deliveries in Morrisville drives way to fast on his way to Copley Hospital, usually around 9:15 on Wednesdays. Please ask him to drive the village limit."
"If I could give it less I would, the HR department is the worst I've ever dealt with, she acts like it's everyone's problem if she has to do her job. I've called a few times for a job and never once heard back from them. Horrible place."
"There seems to be several bad postings on this business that I highly question. Disgruntled ex employees? I've dealt with this company for many years . I've not come across the problem that the last three state they've had. I've always received the produce and the quality I expect. Yes they can be on the expensive side but if your getting what you ordered and the delivery time works. I must say I've not at the business I was using Blk River for currently. But my confidence in them from past experiences would make me try them again"
"Large Box Trucks routinly travel illegaly across 5-ton bridge on Cadys Falls Road in Morrisville, VT. The drivers are traveling at speeds in excess of 40mph (in 25mph zone) so as not to get caught by law enforcement. We have noticed the company, but they are unresponsive. I hope they follow food safety regulations better than traffic laws."
