"I’d like to say how nice the entire staff treated us. Everyone was friendly and always wearing a smile. This was our first time at Barrows and can’t wait to return. Thanks to everyone for making our visit special."
"Possibly one of the best meals I've ever had! We were with a large party and food was being passed around, I got to try so many different things, it was all amazing!!"
"The visit here was part of the holiday tour of Vermont Country Inns to support the local food bank. We did not stay the night here. This inn is a sister property to the Dorset Inn. Rooms feel more modern but each room has its own feel. They have a good number of rooms and did a great job decorating for the christmas holiday!"
"My family ate at the restaurant. The fried chicken meal was amazing. My mom and I both agreed that it was the BEST meal we’d eaten while vacationing in VT. Only complaint- we ate in the dining room, but the music from the bar was still a bit loud/distracting. When you’re paying $$$ for top notch food, you expect a little quieter/more peaceful ambiance. Not a big deal, but worth noting."
"Restaurant review (not guests at the inn) - while the food was generally good, the service was quite poor. First, our waitress (super nice but really struggled) never came to our table - after a while, we asked a busperson if we could put in a drink order - and the waitress came over. She took our drink order which took forever to come out (not that busy a night, it seemed). When it did, they brought the wrong beer - they fixed it for free tho, to their credit. We asked for still water three different times over the course of 20ish mins. A different waiter eventually came over with it. The food was not bad - we got the fried chicken, pork chop, and burger. The chicken was ok but a slightly weird cut (had to avoid the chicken vertebra…) and could have used gravy. Fine, but for $36…? At the end, we skipped dessert, and asked for the check. When we looked over the items, they had added two desserts to the bill by mistake. When we pointed it out, they sheepishly but kindly removed them. All in all, totally fine food, nice surrounds, somewhat overpriced ($18 fries!), and really rough service."
