Reviews of The Last Chair Bar & Grill
"So, the setup of this restaurant can be confusing. Facing the joint from the parking lot, the right side is pub fare with arcade and sometimes live music. If you walk into the left side, as we did, you will be entering a whole different restaurant with a different kitchen (shared kitchen for the kids menu I think) and the cuisine (at least for the winter of '24) is Asian. More specifically it is Korean and Japanese with sushi, bibimbap, wings and ramen options. There are also some interesting sides. We almost left and went next door because we were looking for the bar food and crowd. The waitress convinced us to stay and try it out. We did... and she was right. The food was great. We shared a rainbow roll which was soft, fresh and delicious. Could have easily been a roll at a NYC sushi restaurant. The bimibap was excellent. I'm not a big kimchee fan, but if it always tasted like this I prob would be. Obviously freshly made in-house and delicious. The meat and tofu skin was too notch. If I had to be nitpicky I would say that, personally I like it a little less deconstructed (rice came on side) where it's on top of the rice which is prob less traditional I'm sure. And the egg was too well done. I love bibimbap with nice gooey egg yolk mixing in with everything, but this egg was a bit too crispy and fried. This was my wife's first time trying bibimbap and she couldn't believe that it was so good and that her first experience was in VT! My kid ate sushi and pizza and lived both. Pizza was very tasty, but the style is very thich and doughy. Regardless, my 4 year old devoured it. Pro Tip: there is a fun house mirror (back from the Deacon Den days if my memory serves me correctly!) next to the restroom that could turn your bathroom break into a 25 min journey. Go to the bathroom with your kid early if you don't want cold food. :)"
"Nachos were less than mid. Cocktail tasted bad. Main entrées were quite yummy! The coleslaw tasted bad tho."
"I think many people who have a toddler will understand the difficulty in finding balance between an enjoyable experience for both the adults and the children. The Last Chair strikes that balance with precision. For children, they have this whole arcade/game area, like Dave & Busters. For the adults, they have a huge bar selection, large TVs, and live music. Most importantly, they have excellent food. My wife got a haddock that she was bragging about a week later. I got maple-glazed pork chops and totally loved them. There are many other dishes to choose from, and I feel confident that most are similarly delicious. The catch is the wait. We got there shortly after it opened at 5pm on a Saturday, and we waited about 40min. If you get there at 6:30 on a Saturday in the midst of ski season, beware! That said, we barely felt the wait because we killed the time in the arcade area. If you don't have kids you can do the same in the bar. On the bright side, I suppose you chalk up the wait times to this restaurant's well-earned popularity."
"Food was awesome, service was friendly and fast! I got the half rack of ribs and they fell off the bone great seasoning and sauce! My husband got the Rubin sandwich was excellent!! Stuffed and very satisfied! Had live music was very good played songs we knew was a great time!!"
