"Just had the worst clam chowder I've ever gotten at Marty's the container had nothing but buttered milk in it. The woman who served it had to know from what she ladled that it was liquid and nothing else. Yet she put the cover on put the price tag on it and handed it to me. I didn't realize how I had been screwed until I got in my vehicle and opened it up."
"Edited to one star in December: Tried to order a veg sub. Lori was so rude for no reason. I quit and just went to Hastings instead. ——————- We don’t really use Marty’s as our main store because it’s priced for tourists not locals. But every once in a while, we used to enjoy a soup or sandwich from there. Unfortunately, in the past couple of months, they stopped having anything vegetarian friendly that’s premade - soups, sandwiches and even most salads have meat in them. Six soups, all had meat, every sandwich (except the smallest, dryest $7 egg salad) had meat, one Greek salad had no meat but little of anything else. The fried stuff is cooked too low and is usually cool and greasy. We also would grab 3 to 5 items on the regular if we didn’t want to run into town. They’ve all nearly doubled in price since we’ve moved here five years ago. Just a huge bummer. Two stars for a friendly-ish staff."
"I love Marty's! For a small grocery, it is well stocked with high quality foods."
"Just stopped for gas. I pressed the button for regular 87 I remember clearly pressing it. I have never used supreme. I realized after pumping almost 10 gallons that the price wasn’t accurate. I went in and told the woman at the register that something was wrong and she bit my head off. I said that “ I wish she would take it seriously because other people are going to be charged too much and in ten gallons I was already charged almost $5 over. That’s a huge discrepancy.” She angrily said she would go talk to the manager telling me “ can you stand somewhere else so people can use the register” and when she came back she said “here’s the difference from what you pumped and regular.” I am concerned that the angry woman never took me seriously. I am not low income I’m driving a brand new one month old Subaru Outback. But lower income people could not afford to be ripped off of $5 per tank of gas. Please do better."
"It’s refreshing that a place like this still exists. Aside from gas it’s not a chain convenience stop at all. Great prepared food and boars head sandwiches. High quality meat counter. Expanded grocery section with a lot more refrigeration. Good beer selection but you have to buy by the pack (no breaking them up). NFC pumps are awesome. Charging stations for cars."
