"This is a hidden gem as far as New Hampshire State Parks go. Un-crowded, quiet, and peacful."
"Beautiful spot. There’s picnic tables and bathrooms/changing areas available for use. There are canoes available to rent. This park is included in the NH State Parks license plate so it’s “free” to go if you have one. My only complaint is that the lake bed is very rocky and has a ton of mussels which aren’t super comfortable to walk on."
"Nice shaded spots to get in the water. A clean park. It's nice to be able to take a walk around the lake and enjoy the scenery."
"Wow. A must stop. We were traveling thru from Vermont to Boston and stopped at this Park for lunch and where very happy we did. Very close to the exit and great facilities. We were able to eat lunch right by the water and enjoy the beautiful view. I recommend this Park."
"Wadleigh State Park is a family joke. We call it Mussel Pond, because there are so many bivalves in the swimming area that you have to step over them to get to the deeper water. There are no amenities. No snack bar. A very old school playground for the kids. Some picnic benches, parking and that's about it. HOWEVER! The water is clean and cool, the beaches clean, the sounds quiet and the price is dirt-cheap. If you're looking for a family-friendly, low-stress swimming area, you can't beat it. Even on weekends it's relatively quiet, because it's off the beaten track. Yet only 30 minutes up 89 from Concord. Rustic New Hampshire at it's best! PS check out the general store near the entrance road to the park. A gem."
