"I come to this dam to take the long hike to the Lily Pond on top of the ridge. It's about 5 miles but worth the trip. The dam itself is massive and very high up. You can notice how incredible the construction required must have been. There are giant overflow section that the water level hasn't been near in decades. The entire project is incredibly big. The parking area is modest but good enough for a few cars. There's picnic tables in certain parts of the dam, including before the hiking trail."
