"This is normally a great place to go. I have been going for years. It's quiet and a good place to get in the river and find lots of crayfish. However, when I went yesterday someone had vandalized it and left their drug needle just sitting on a rock. They also posted this weird paper that makes no sense. The water level was also very high this time."
"Great little streamside public fly fishing access lot along the Wells River. There's a small lot and a few pathways to the river. At the uppermost part of the area there's some fast moving water with pools before the river widens out to two small ponds seperated by a small waterfall. From here you can walk out on to some rock outcrops and fly fish some fairly deep pools. Further downstream there's a very steep trail down to some fast moving water with cut banks and pools. In mid-June the water was wadeable, except for the ponds, with caution as the water was moving fast. A wading staff is recommended. I was here for a couple hours fly fishing. Unfortunately, I was skunked as there wasn't much activity, except for a few curious beavers. Even though I didn't have any luck, it was still a nice quiet spot with beautiful scenery, and a good place to work on my fly casting. Fishing licenses can be purchased online or in Newbury at the General Store."
