"Such an amazing fun place... trail's, water, bridges, waterfalls, e.t.c. Beautiful!!"
"Beautiful serene setting with variety of trails and of course the waterfall and stream are magical. On hot days my kids hop in the water, on cooler days we walk the trails. You can spend as little as 30 min here but you can also make it a days, have picnic, let kids and dogs play in water.. only drawback in busy season is parking , arrive early - before 10 am if you want to find good spot."
"Great walking trails that are close to the city, but you would never know! I wish they had better parking arrangements, however. Sometimes the places around the woods, I think it's a school, makes a lot of noise which sometimes really echos and ruins the nature vibes of the woods, but nothing can really be done about that. The steams that run through the woods are calming and a great place to sit and read. it isn't very crowded whenever I go, and litter is very minimal around the trails."
"This place is a great walk. We have taken our dogs there for the past couple of years and have never been disappointed. The old stone bridges are a very unique feature. The water is ever changing, we go in the summer and you can walk across the stream, in the fall it is raging rapids (not really but more water). The woods and field trails are very nice and an easy walk for the entire family. If you're in Hallowell I would recommend."
"If you want to get out of the city, although Augusta is not a busy area, walk through the Vaughan Woods trails. These carriage roads were constructed by the Vaughan family for over a hundred years beginning in 1890 and culminating a land donation to Kennebec Land Trust in 1991. The stone bridges and waterfalls are a gorgeous photo opportunity."
