"A gorgeous 6 mile hike. I hiked it from Mt Surprise road to Bartlett mountain and then then over to Mt Kearsage. The views from Barlett and Kearsage are excellent. You can't go wrong with this hike."
"Beautiful spot to catch the sunset and maybe even the sunrise if you camp out for the night. Steep hike, poles recommend but gloves not needed. Keep an eye on the weather, and dress/pack accordingly if you plan on camping out in the tower and expect company as it's a public site."
"Great hike for a half day and those looking for some elevation gain. Not busy on a summer Wednesday morning. Most of the hike is in the shade of trees. Trail is in good condition, but tree roots in places. Sidewalk granite in places is a bonus."
"This place is awesome. We took the trail up from hurricane road. Had a solid monorail and used micro spikes for this late fall hike. The views at the fire tower are really incredible!! You can also camp in the fire tower which would be really fun. If you do camp you will need to bring your own water and/or melt snow since there is no water source within a mile of the tower. Check out the pictures!!"
"The hike to the top is rated a moderate in most books/hiking sites but do not take it lightly. As you start pretty low in altitude the elevation gain is comparable to much bigger hikes. The trail is steadily upwards pretty much all along the 3.1 miles to the summit. The fire tower is great with 360 views of the white mountains and it is a handy place to sleep overnight for those making a longer traverse."
