"The exposure to the pool is nice for kids. The pool is large enough for the class size to have plenty of room. The actually swim lessons were lacking. We have done multiple rounds and different levels hoping that as my daughter got older the instructions/lessons would move towards actually teaching her to swim and not just water exposure. It didn't. The lessons are unfocused. There's A LOT of just exposing kids to getting their face and ears wet, blowing bubbles but once your kid has mastered that (and had moved up to the next class) it's just sort of stagnant. The instructors stand on the side of the pool and tell you what to do with your kids. They don't interact with the kids or help to show them what's needed. Other pools in the area once they're 4-5 years old the kids are in class without parents in the pool. Swim time told me parents are in the pool until about age 7 unless its a private lesson. I could do these instructions they give by just googling so you're basically paying for access to a pool. It may work for some families but this wasn't a great fit for our family where we want our kids to actually learn to swim"
"Paid for private swim lessons for my 2 kids- got 5 “classes” of them floating around the pool wearing floaties with no instruction, and playing with a big beach ball while standing on the pool stairs. If you’re looking for your kids to just get acclimated or comfortable in a pool, this might be good for you. If you’re looking for your kids to actually learn how to swim, skip these classes."
"Pro: the class size was small and efforts were made to socially distance, so we felt comfortable bringing our children here during the pandemic. Pro: The pool is warm, and the shallow water makes it easy for parents with littles to get in and out and move around. Con: over a 6 week class schedule, we had 3 different "instructors". I use quotations because they don't get in the pool, or provide any instruction. They stand on the side and tell the parents to sing songs and throw toys for the kids to chase. The instructor we had for 4 of the 6 classes was always miserable - she never smiled, she scolded me for letting my child practice climbing out of the pool 3 times instead of only 2, and she told my 2 year old she couldn't have a toy she wanted because she had already touched another one. Not someone who seemed happy teaching children. Con: The price. You pay a "membership fee" on top of the class fee, which would be fine if we ever wanted to go back. We usually pay $70 per session at the SP community center, but opted for this out of convenience...big mistake."
"Super great staff. Great teachers for my little ones with lots of different classes and times for the kids to learn to swim. Changing rooms could be a bit bigger but are plenty usable."
"Great place for a child learning to swim. They have a large, shallow pool, a friendly staff, and a full calendar of events to serve all age groups."
