"My partner Travis and I just moved into the first building that was built at this community. We decided 3 days ago that our lives needed a change, so we contacted management at The Beacon and they helped us complete the moving process in a matter of days. I am super impressed by everyone here and their ability to make people feel welcomed. If you’re someone who is looking to move close to the Portland area, then this is definitely a place you should check out. 11/10"
"Nice place to live but nasty management that will rip you off at every turn Pros- Location (very close to 95, route 1, beaches, Portland) and Amenities (pool, gym, clubhouse) Cons- Ripoff: Our rent increased over $300 every year ($1000 over 3 years) for the same unit. Lease Break Policy: We bought our first home and moved shortly after renewing our lease for a 6 month period. The timing just didn’t work out. We had to pay a $6000 fee, even though I’m pretty sure they filled our apartment immediately. This was not the policy when we first moved in but the policy said it could “change at anytime” so we got stuck. Do not move here if you are trying to buy a home/ might need to leave early. Dumpster: Only one trash and one cardboard dumpster for the entire complex, not conveniently located for most people. Trash and cardboard dumpsters overflow due to being over capacity and then management sends emails scolding residents for the overflowing dumpsters. Nowhere to recycle glass and plastic (you have to take it to town recycling). Snow removal: Nice that they remove it, not so nice that someone drives around laying on the horn at 6 am to tell everyone to move their cars. (I never understood why I can’t just choose to shovel my car out of its space myself). They will tow your car if you happen to be away when it snows. Nastygrams: Prepare yourself for the most passive aggressive emails you’ve ever read about the dumbest things you can imagine (see above re: the dumpster). Hastily built units: Outlets that don’t work due to being fitted wrong, walls not actually painted all the way to the ceiling, caulking that melts in less than a year… etc Mosquitos: They do treat the area for mosquitoes but basically it’s in a swamp so you can’t enjoy your balcony/patio in the summer evenings. Parking: Definitely not enough spaces for residents to conveniently park. Also , they offer to enter you in contests for gift cards when you write good reviews, so don’t trust the positive reviews you see."
"I love living at The Beacon. This is my third year and I have a hard time imagining living anywhere else. It's a gorgeous place to live. The apartment is clean and modern. Close to the freeway and Scarborough area, but quietly hidden amongst the forest. It conveniently has an on-site fitness area and community/business center. The staff are wonderful. My only 'complaint' is I wish it was a bit more insulated as I can hear my upstairs neighbors dog run around, but barking is kept in control and there are a lot of dogs (which I don't mind). My number 1 reason I stay is definitely the pool! ❤️"
"We’ve been tenants since 2019. The property is well-kept and the leasing agreements stringent, but fair. The apartments have high ceilings and low-maintenance floors. The common Clubhouse is a beautiful property with a large pool and deck with gas grills. The Fitness Room is clean with maintained equipment. Landscaping and snow removal is Class A and the Facilities Department knowledgeable and will bend backwards to make repairs or assist with a technical issue. Parking can be a challenge, but garages are offered at a reasonable monthly rate when available. What convinced us to move here? Full kitchen appliances, central air/heat, and a stackable washer and dryer in each unit. Management will hold monthly contests and holiday events as a thank you to everyone. A nice place to live if you’re in transition to another home or if just to settle down for awhile."
"I love living here. Quiet and friendly community. The staff are so kind in the leasing office. The community amenities are amazing- I definitely feel as though I’m getting my money’s worth."
