"I am the coach of a youth hockey team and we needed a place to stay for a local hockey tournament. I am so happy we found Fox Ridge! Right from the beginning of booking the group room block, the service was wonderful. At check-in, the couple working the front desk were a delight. They had great information on local restaurants and activities for the group. Very accommodating and extremely pleasant. The rooms are above average rooms for North Conway. It is a ski town with a lot of older ski resorts so sometimes you don't really know what you are walking into. However, Fox Ridge ownership has certainly maintained the property well. There is of course some wear but overall, very good. The rooms were very clean and of the 12 rooms we had booked, there was not one complaint. I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend the Fox Ridge to others and would certainly stay here again in the future."
"I stayed at Fox Ridge Resort for one night in North Conway this season. The room was great, with a very nice hot tub. I would absolutely recommend Fox Ridge for anybody wanting to stay in the area. Beyond that, the service was wonderful. My car broke down and I got phenomenal assistance from the folks at Fox Ridge. They treated me perfectly, and I will be giving them any future business I can when I'm up in the area. I highly, highly recommend them!"
"Our experience at the Fox Ridge Resort was mixed. Upon arriving at the resort, the main lobby is beautiful with incredible views of the mountain. After check in, we went to find our room. The buildings aren’t numbered so it was a bit of a chore to find our room. The exterior of the buildings are dated but clean. Once inside our room we were greeted with a nice modernized with room. It was very pleasant. Unfortunately, our room over looked the parking lot so we did not have the greatest of views but that is just luck of the draw when booking. Our room was clean except for the carpet. It was heavily stained and we did not feel comfortable walking on it barefooted. We understand that it is a pet friendly hotel and that accidents so happen but the carpets could use a good deep cleaning on a regular basis. Also, the drain for the sink was dirty and had dark black hair sticking out of it. It was a bit off putting but not the end of the world. Another thing that was a bit more or an issue was that there was a blood stain on the comforter that we did not see till the next morning. Also, when we left our room to go to the indoor pool, we had to go outside to get to it. It was dark out and the outside areas are very dark. There is little to no light outside when walking to and from the pool back to our room. The mini golf course is depressing and shouldn’t even be there at this point. There is a broken down carnival ride on the side of it that just had some bags of trash laying in it. The mini golf course is not very inviting and is more of just a tripping hazard when you are walking from your room to the indoor pool. Also, the hot water is very very hot. Almost unsafe. You can easily be scolded by the temperature of the water in the shower if you are not very careful with the dial. The light in the bathroom is an older fluorescent that flickers quite a bit when first turned on. It is severe and could be seizure inducing if someone who suffers for seizures experienced it. On a positive note, the breakfast was great for what it was. It is a buffet style breakfast and there was plenty of food and drink options. It is actually quite impressive. I applaud the hotel for their dedication to feeding their guests with a good hot breakfast. The staffing is also very nice and helpful. Overall, the resort is located in a great spot with plenty of food and shopping in both directions. For the price, it’s hard to beat. Other than the conditions of the carpet, it was a comfortable stay for the night but I’m not sure if I’d be willing to spend a whole week there though."
"This property is on the heart of ski country and the location is an asset. The room are dated but not 'bad'. It is obvious that it could use a reinvestment and some TLC. If you are looking for a 5 star room, this is not it. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. No complaint there. If I remember correctly, the TV was a bit small for the size of the room. We didn't use the pool. The walk out yard was nice. The only negative is the distance between parking and the building. You might want to drop off people and stuff then go park the car."
"This place is terrible! Gross. Old. Outdated. Disgusting. We spent 3 nights there because we had paid well ahead of time and there wasn’t anything else available. We left early because I couldn’t take it anymore. The rooms smell terrible of mold and mildew. The carpets are as old as the building and have a very moist feel to them. The bathrooms are disgusting and there is mold throughout. The wallpapered walls are filthy. Spiders everywhere. The beds are very uncomfortable and resulted in loss of sleep three days straight. We never once had any trash or linen service while we were there. We had to go to the front desk and peel the person off of their phone for assistance in getting towels. Everything that we had brought with us now stinks and smells of the moldy mildew rooms. The free breakfast was not worth the price of nothing. I’ll leave that alone. The pools were very unkept and unsafe, cement and tiles broken off and falling apart all around. Very dirty. The word “resort” in the title should be changed to “last resort” and even then, I would not opt to stay here if I knew in advance had I read any of the reviews to this place. Yea sled beware, spend the money for a different place in the area. DO NOT STAY HERE! This place should 100% be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. I wonder if they have ever had an inspection for health and safety because I’m sure they would fail."
