"Dr. Simmons is great, the nurses are sweet, Demi the call-in receptionist for Child Neurology group is beyond amazing... the only reason there isn't a 5 star review is for the in-person receptionist who has recently become an unprofessional nightmare. Even with a 45min drive, we have always been early for our daughter's appointments. One unpreventable traffic delay caused us to be 8 minutes late and upon arrival the receptionist told us that there is a 5 minute window, after which the appointment is cancelled... Well this was news to us as we've never heard of this policy nor have we ever been late before... We expressed our sincere apologies for the tardiness, and asked if we could still be seen with an 8 minute deduction from our appointment time, to which she responded with a dramatic production involving a couple of fake phone calls... Not even kidding. While we waited, our daughter asked me why we weren't going in and I responded; "Well honey, apparently we're too late and might not get to see the doctor today." For some reason, the receptionist took this as a personal jab. She stood up, phone to ear, looked around my husband, and said in a loud, obnoxious tone; "EXCUSE ME MA'AM! I'M DOING EVERYTHING I CAN TO HELP YOU SINCE YOU WERE THE ONES WHO WERE LATE!" ... Wow! To avoid meeting this woman at her level, I took our daughter to the waiting room which was completely empty, where we sat in hopes that the office would show us leniency for this extremely upsetting 3 minute inconvenience... Of course the office was fine with it... the same receptionist was the one to lead us to our room. Because it was obvious this woman was having a rough day, I reached for her arm to extend a heartfelt apology however she refused to look at me, pulled her arm away, scoffed and left the room. My mistake! As always, Dr. Simmons was wonderful. Our visit with him lasted less than 20minutes, and we were on our merry way. The follow-up appointment which has been on the calendar for months was scheduled for this week... My husband made the 45 minute drive with our daughter, making sure they were extra early, only to discover that "someone" on their end cancelled the appointment but never called to let us know... How amazingly convenient that this has never happened before. While we can't prove it, we definitely have our suspicions!"

"They won’t see you if you’re not 30 minutes early. What’s the point of an appointment time if they won’t see you at that time because you’re not early. I explained I’m a full time working single mom, drove 35 minutes here, got stuck in traffic and don’t get paid for not being at work for this appointment and the front desk lady began getting VERY loud at me. Not how a family to a disabled child should be treated, our life is hard enough."

"We were discriminated against today bigtime the receptionist berated us in front of others and got in a one sided screaming match, refused to give me practice managers number and when I said I felt discrimination as a minority she said who or what's a minority in front of other patients when I told them about it they were unsympathetic sad and disgusting boo-boo! Thumbs down wish I could give zero stars"

"Experience with Dr Simmons was fine. But rescheduled because we’ve been 5’ minutes late with an 8 month old baby. Well I guess they didn’t know that I had another sick baby at home and an accident on the way but still shows how arrogant they can be."
