"Communication is horrible. Unprofessional staff. Experience with dr is fine, just hope you don’t have to deal with anything else."
"so i had been a patient for years of Dr Kam, and others. the tubes in my ears finally had fallen out after about 12 years, my left ear suddenly is having a good amount of pain, lots of fluid and a big loss of hearing, ear drum fluttering like a butterfly with any sounds at all causing pain. secretary tells me even emergency appointments are booking out two months from now? How can an emergency appointments be booking out two months away? 10 years ago dr kam always squeezed me in because he knew the trouble i had and we out tubes in right in the office numerous times. now they had to turn me away completely and wouldn't even book me. I was told to go to bostons ER maybe they could help me. so now instead ill go t urgent care ill wind up with antibiotics that wont work, and ill have to deal with not being able to hear anything on the left side. When a ten minute procedure to put in a new tube would solve everything."
"We have been taking my daughter to Dr. Monica Lee at Mass Eye and Ear for nearly 7 years now. After a horrendous experience at Children's, Dr. Lee was a breath of fresh air. My daughter was very traumatized and she went out of her way to gain her trust and treat her with compassion. Recently, my daughter had a tonsillectomy performed by Dr. Lee. My daughter has anxiety and Dr. Lee met with the staff in Boston in advance of her surgery to ensure that everything in their power would be done to keep my daughter's time there as stress free as possible. From the staff on the inpatient floor to the anesthesia team, essentially everyone who had contact with my daughter had been brought into the circle and went out of their way to make her (and me for that matter) feel comfortable. Dr. Lee is top notch and always has been. I have had experiences with pediatrics at Childrens, South Shore, and Tufts and by far, the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mass Eye and Ear were the best I've ever experienced. I cannot thank all of them enough for all they have done."
"Difficult getting through on the phone to make an appointment. Over a month to wait for appointment. Received call day of appointment stating that the Dr. called in sick and that the next available appointment would be over a month out. I understand that people get sick, but find it unacceptable that better accommodations could not have been made to reschedule. - 6/16/17: Katy & Lynn both followed up and did a great job trying to rework me in the schedule. Thank you!"
"You wait at LEAST an hour to be seen and that is with an appointment. Also, I feel like the doctors over book or are overwhelmed with their case load because the patient attention and follow-up doesn't exist. That being said, I felt like my doctor was excellent! I'm torn, because I feel comfortable with the medical advice. It's unfortunate, because it's more of a problem how the office in general is run. It is not worth the trouble to wait over an hour for an appointment, then to chat as fast as I can for 10 mins to the doctor, then if I call for any reason to discuss test results or issues no one can help me, according to the front desk. I am thinking of switching to a more patient focused office."
