"If you're putting your car on the ferry at Pt Judith, beware the old guy running the lot. My husband made a mistake and apologized profusely to Mr Angry who melted down and, among other things, yelled "You're lucky I don't have my gun"! Our kids were in the car too. Scary."
"Lovely old fishing & seaport in RI. Every restaurants has some of the best seafood ever to touch your lips."
"Ticket agent was extremely rude. I called to inquire about rates and dates. I was very polite because there’s no reason not to be. The ticket agent was very short with me, and upon ending the conversation I said thank you and she just hung up the phone. No, you’re welcome. No have a nice day, nothing. Maybe a little more customer service training is in order."
"Easy and quickest was to get over to Block. They are doing a good job with COVID precautions and making sure all are wearing masks. Get tickets early as the first ferry sells out quick. I recommend getting in line for boarding at least 15 minutes before boarding time if not more if you want a good choice at seats. Plenty of parking in lots around the port."
"Took the ferry from Point Judith to Block Island. I enjoy taking the ferry here because you can hang out at Point Judith or ferry over to the island. or, hang out at the local bars/restaurants after going to Block Island. There’s parking close by, within a 2-minute walk to the ferry. Parking was no more than $15 for the day. The high speed ferry takes 30 minutes. On the day I went, the water was calm but still felt the motion of the ocean. So for those with a sensitive stomach, you might consider the slower ferry. If you’re visiting Newport, RI, it’s about a 40 minute drive to Point Judith . Ballards had cabanas and chairs for rent. I believe if you want a cabana, it’s best to reserve in advance."
