"I have attempted lash extensions several times and with multiple artists… all of which left me wondering if the service was even worth it. That’s not how I felt today seeing Ashley at Permanent Makeup & Aesthetics. Ashley consulted with me prior to the appointment. Asking questions like what was my prior experience - how did the lashes feel once applied - did I experience excessive fall out, etc. She explained the difference between the types of glue used by other artists vs the UV light activated glue that they use. They are the only business in Maine that offers UV light lashes. Following the consultation Ashley began applying my lashes. She let me know ahead of time what she was doing prior to doing it. This helped to calm any nerves that may be there. She has a wonderful bedside manner and instantly makes you feel comfortable, like you’ve know her for ages. During the application she made sure to check her work as she went along. This was really helpful as I have really long bottom natural lashes. In my prior experience, artists didn’t check as they went along and at the end I had lashes glued to the bottom which caused additional issues. This didn’t happen with Ashley. She made sure to apply each extension to individual lashes vs grouping like most artists do. This again is helpful when you have longer natural lashes, and makes the application of the extension look more natural. She also varied sizes of the lashes being applied. So they weren’t all the same, the up and down again makes for a more natural (but enhanced) look. Following the application she made sure to brush through my lashes. She didn’t do it gently like most artists do. She explained that she does it this way so that if I’m going to experience fall out it will be there and she can fix it if need be before I leave. I appreciated this immensely! The UV light lashes are great if you’re a little bit rough on your lashes, if you have excessive eye watering, or if you’ve had a bad experience before with excessive fall out. The UV light helps to cure the glue harder and faster. The overall experience with Ashley and Permanent Makeup & Aesthetics was incredible. I can’t wait to come back for other services that they offer and already booked additional services in a few weeks. Thank you again Ashley for providing such a wonderful experience. "Walking in to my appointment I was nervous, I’ve never had any permanent makeup done before. Immediately Ashley and her cute dog Sissy made me feel very comfortable. She talked me through each step and truly had me relaxed in the heated bed while waiting for the novacane to kick in. Throughout the process she asked me if I felt any pain, and also educated me on other possible services I am interested in getting. I left grateful and so happy with my permanent makeup!
