"Great small book store with amazing selection for littles and middle grade. Found new series for my avid readers and a super friendly staff. Thank you for keeping book lovers stocked. Also loved the used book store on the bottom floor which is like a treasure trove!"
"I love the Children's Book Cellar! There is a wonderful selection of Children's books and toy, young adult book, and adult fiction and nonfiction as well! Ellen is fabulous, and if she doesn't have the book you are looking for she will order it."
"Great store. The times I’ve bought from there during the pandemic, Ellen has been so kind to do my order over the phone and then bring it out curbside. Appreciate businesses who adapt to this strange time and keep their customers (and themselves) safe!"
"It was my very first time in Waterville and drove 2.5 hrs to get there. I walked into the store without a mask and waited patiently by the door (because I cannot wear a mask) while the lady behind the counter was speaking with a customer. I had gone in to ask a question about availability of fountain pens/ink and if they had a specific book, but I never got to ask because the same woman stopped her conversation, yelled across the store for me to wear a mask essentially mask-shaming/embarrassing me while I was in the doorway... of course, other customers turned to see the commotion. I did mutter that there was nothing there to interest me....and I won’t be be back....because I won’t. If you want poor customer service and to be bullied/embarrassed, this IS the place for you"
"Our local bookstore, and a source of much happiness, for those of us who still read paper books. Ellen, the owner, is very knowledgeable, and keeps a fascinating mix of books on her shelves. Yes, there are children's books in stock, but there are also books for grownups. Primarily fiction. Open all year round."
