MGH Institute for Technology Assessment

MGH Institute for Technology Assessment, located at 101 Merrimac Street in Boston, Massachusetts, is dedicated to conducting health outcomes research to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of medical care. Our team of physicians and methodologic experts work across various disciplines to identify where healthcare can have the most impact. Through our research, we aim to enhance disease treatment and prevention, improve quality of life, and optimize the cost-effectiveness of care.

With expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, economics, decision science, and more, we use data from various sources to develop mathematical models that address important public health questions when traditional clinical trials are not feasible. Our focus areas include cancer outcomes research (such as colorectal, lung, esophageal, and thyroid cancers) as well as initiatives to address pressing public health issues like the opioid epidemic, global hepatitis C elimination, and COVID-19 mitigation efforts in the United States.
