"Very rude to me when I asked for help picking something out for my girlfriend"
"Called in super rude people, asked to speak to the owner with a question, hung up in my face. I ordered a garment for my mother and it came defected. They did not even give me the chance to ask what we could do to resolve it."
"bad customer service, hung up when i said i had a question"
"I discovered Statement Boutique about 3 years ago, and what a great find it was and continues to be! Both the clothing and the jewelry are special and unique - you never have to worry about someone else showing up at an event, wearing the same thing as you! Andrea, the owner, and her staff are wonderful to work with. It's almost an hour away for me, but it's well worth the drive! I'll give it an A+."
"CANADIAN CUSTOMER BEWARE PLEASE READ!!!!!!! I came across this store and was happy to find that they carried a particular type of clothing line that I like. I read their policies and proceeded to purchase 2 dresses. They use UPS for internationally shipping and charged me $25.00 to have the parcel sent to me. My parcel arrived 2 days ago and I was asked to pay an additional $277.00 which I was not expecting. I contacted UPS to be told the breakdown and surprised to find that I was charged an additional $97 for brokerage fees which is just another word for shipping yet I had paid $25 already. I paid the amount in order to get the parcel. I then contacted the owner of Statement Boutique to advise and was given a lot of information AFTER THE FACT. Andrea the owner, tells me that I do not have to pay UPS directly but to go thru the CBSA to avoid the brokerage fees. This is unacceptable to me. All of this information should be given to a customer BEFORE they make a purchase. I would never have bought these dresses if I knew that SHIPPING would have been over $122. Andrea put the responsibility on me to know this information being Canadian yet I DID NOT KNOW THIS as this is the first time that I have had to pay any additional costs from on-line shopping outside of Canada. In her policy section there is NO MENTION of the word BROKERAGE FEES, it only states custom and duties. That is deceptive and not right. I thought I was dealing with an honest store with great customer service but I was wrong. I should have known that something was not right when 2 days after placing my order, I receive an e-mail that the store is offering an additional 20% off of sale items BUT THIS OFFER WAS NOT VALID ON PREVIOUS PURCHASES. How convenient. I called Andrea and she was very pleasant. I asked her if she would honour that extra 20% to me since I had just placed the order, but she said she would give me a gift card of $92 US instead, great business move on her part but not for me. I accepted the gesture as I could tell that trying to get over a $100 refund on my VISA was going to be a complete waste of my time. The end result of all of this, my purchase of $456 turned into a $1100 charge on my VISA. I was outraged!!!!!! I contacted Andrea to advise I would obviously not be a customer of hers and asked that my gift card be donated to a charity or a front line worker but I am sure that will not happen as the integrity and credibility of the store is in question. I wanted to return these dresses and try to recoup some of my losses but that isn't even an option because the dresses are a FINAL SALE. Again, pretty convenient. Andrea really knows how to take advantage of customers as I am sitting here going thru this very unfortunate and costly experience. As a customer you want to be informed, that is all we ask especially if there are extra concerns being Canadian. My fight with this store is not over yet. My Canadian friends, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ask the questions before shopping with this store or just don't shop here at all. I would hate for any other person to be in my position right now. SHAME ON STATEMENT BOUTIQUE for not being honest and forthcoming about their business practices."
