"***BUYER BEWARE!!! ROBBERY!*** Purchased a $40k gold watch this Saturday around 5pm. Had bags brought out to my car by armed store security. Was followed home from the store and robbed within 30 minutes of said purchase. Thieves followed me home from Newbury Street. I live in Newton which is 25 minutes away from the Newbury location. Horrifying experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Thieves full focus was on getting green bag out of my car. My purchase was gone within 3 minutes. I went back to the store Sunday at 12pm and was met by head security, Gary, who basically told me that they were not at fault and he felt that the security of the store was 110%. I pointed out that their security in the store is a hired third party vendor who I saw was on his personal cell phone on Saturday smiling as he was texting away. Head of security told me nothing was wrong with that. On Sunday my friend who happened to be at that same location mentioned that he saw security guard talking on his cell phone through his air pods. People loitering outside the store. How is that not a breach of security protocol? How unprofessional is that even if not malicious? Was made to feel even more victimized after my meeting. Newton police are involved and I plan on making a secondary police report in Boston first thing Monday. I understand that owners of Longs are a local family. I don’t think they would ever want their customers to feel unsafe at this high end location. We go to these high end boutiques with sole purpose of enjoying a safe experience and expect to be treated with respect. Safety should be number 1 together with professionalism that goes above and beyond. Unfortunately for me, this experience to date has been a nightmare."
