"Magical, surrounded by very white snow."
"The best place to transform young people for a much brighter future for them and for others"
"I’d like to add my voice to the previous reviewer’s negative/mixed review specifically about the SIT Cameroon site. My experience with that program was frequently alarming, disempowering, and sometimes frightening. There was a huge lack of support for students as we navigated all kinds of issues like sexual harassment, really tricky situations within host families, and serious illness. I have traveled quite a bit as an adult and have never felt so unsafe as I did at SIT Cameroon. That said, the country and the experience of getting to go there as an undergrad are amazing, and I totally stand by SIT’s model of small groups, host families, and independent study projects. I hope SIT continues to operate study abroad programs in countries in which few others do, but that they recommit themselves to a much higher standard of safety and support for the students in their care."
"I am very glad that I chose to study abroad with SIT for the immersive experience and independent study period, but I felt like SIT CAMEROON took all kinds of risks with our health and safety and did a pitiful job of responding to student concerns. It was still a wonderful semester, but that was in spite of SIT, not because of it. Just do your research before you commit!"
"I had the opportunity to attend a two day conference on campus. Small community area in Brattleboro, so must be prepared for this. I now want to be a graduate of their Global Health program! Previous review about being racist, obviously no understanding of what it is like to strive for legitimate place holder in white society, as a person of color. I believe that curriculum deals with that experience as a person of color."
