"Buyer beware. Stole my money after several attempts at communicating with customer service over a period of 4 weeks. I mistakenly signed up for both a 7 day free trial and the $1 for 12 week insider deal. The same day, I emailed customer service to help fix my account so I would not be charged in full after my 7 day free trial was up. It took days for Angeline to respond and assured me that there was not a problem on my account. Several days later I am charged both $1 (from what I intentionally signed up for) and $29.99. After 2 weeks of emails AND phone calls with conflicting answers, they wanted to refund me only $27.60 because I had already had my account for 30 days (which is not true). The audacity of this company blows my mind. I had emailed them from day 1 trying to resolve the problem, and they refused!! Now they "don't have the $1 charge on their record" and want me to mail them my billing statement with the charge on there as proof. Awful, awful, disgraceful company. If I can keep 1 person away from this company, this review will have been worth my time. Edit: they refunded me"
"Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street Cooking School is a large, positive part of my life, as over the past two years I have participated in over 200 of their livestream cooking classes and completed over half of their online, self-paced, pre-recorded cooking courses. Thanks to Milk Street, I now feel much more knowledgeable, comfortable, and creative in the kitchen! Milk Street’s virtual classes have exposed me to use a wide variety of cooking techniques, tools, vocabulary, tips, strategies, templates, and recipes. The Milk Street livestream cooking instructors (Rosie, April, and Matt) are truly inspirational, the moderator (Karsyn) helps us use the chat to get our questions answered during class, and the instructors of the pre-recorded courses are extremely knowledgeable. I love when Milk Street has guest chefs that share their recipes from around the world, so I become exposed to various cuisines, get a chance to research and purchase “new-to-me” ingredients, and try my hand at new dishes. Here are photos showing dishes I made after watching two of Milk Street’s virtual cooking classes. . . Baklava and a Sichuan Dinner (Mapo Tofu, Kung Pao Chicken, and Sichuan Cucumber Salad). Be sure to take some Milk Street Cooking classes. They will transform the way you cook!"
"I love the online Milkstreet Cooking School! I enjoy them so much that I even took a class during my birthday! The classes are engaging, informative, and varied! The instructors are passionate about sharing their knowledge and love of food. The online community is supportive and welcoming. Even though it is online we get to know each other because so many of us keep coming back for more & we interact through the chat feature. The instructors always follow up the class with helpful class notes the next day. Also the instructors are very responsive with follow up questions if I email them."
"Milk Street online cooking school virtual classes are amazing! The classes are livestream over zoom - you can ask questions in the chat and they are answered. The milk street teachers - April Rosie and Matt - are terrific and really show you to cook from their home kitchens with what they could get from the store that day. They also have terrific guest teachers from all over the world. I have added so many terrific cookbooks these guests have written to my collection. If life happens and you miss the class or you just want to see how they did something again, the recording is sent the next day. I have taken many of these classes and learned something from every one. If you want to really learn to cook at home from great cooks who clearly love to teach, these are unbeatable. Photo of tart I made from the class with Dorie Greenspan."
"I was in Boston for training for a few days, and was so glad there was a class offered at Milk Street when I was there. Loved, loved Birgitte's class on Danish cooking. She is an amazing teacher, and her passion for great, fresh food and her love of the food of Denmark came through loud and clear. The cooking school space is heavenly, great demonstration island and wonderful hands on cooking area. The Milk Street group is warm, inviting and passionate about sharing their space and love of food. I have been a Cook's Illustrated, Cook's Country, Milk Street fan forever, so it was a thrill to actually be in their kitchen!"
