"While the exterior is somewhat overgrown and difficult to photograph, the interior another story. Nice museum property with an interesting past."
"Definitely worth the visit, the tour was excellent and they've done amazing things with this Grand Old mansion."
"Loved the ghost tour with Robert Oakes. Getting to know the history of the house & listening to stories of the ghost who still wander the halls was an amazing experience. I recommend taking the tour. Walk the halls and imagine how their lives were. Beautiful location."
"This visit was definitely enhanced by the docent on site. She's a retired teacher. Her depth of knowledge and ability to convey it in a creative and exciting way is exceptional. Her use of figurative language enables one to visualize the elements of the story behind this home. This mansion was literally saved from ruin by the organization that's currently caring for it. It seemed like everyone there was a volunteer, including on-site painters. I highly suggest visiting this site, even if it's just to pay admission to play a small part in keeping the history of this American home alive."
"Ventfort Hall is stunning! I went for a Tea and Talk Lecture. Buy your tickets in advance if you go to a Talk. The one I went to was packed. The tea afterwards was delicious and very casual. It’s like a buffet style tea. The house has a rich history and lovely architecture. The gift shop is very pretty and well laid out. The staff and volunteers are wonderful! They are friendly and clearly work hard. The audio guide is online and free. Make sure your phone is charged and bring headphones."
