"It’s rare that anyone reviews for good anymore, so I wanted to take a minute to acknowledge how hard the staff was working today. They were slammed. I had done an online order in the afternoon thinking it would be an easy in and out and when I got there another online order patron informed me they were really behind. The whole team never lost focus, was still polite and when I gave them my name they moved my ticket because I had my baby with me. I know your job isn’t easy, but you all never lost your cool and my sandwich was perfection as usual! Thank you."
"The women who made my sandwiches did a fantastic job! We ordered our sandwiches online and I requested the gluten free roll. We ended up being there to see the sandwiches made. The care she took to make my sandwich was unbelievable. She did great. However one suggestion for those of you who have an allergy don't do mayo. It is one bucket and one knife, at least at this location. My gluten free roll was pretty good, which is saying something for gluten free. I did rate this location as a 4 however because they forgot our hot sandwich and by the time we got it we were 40 plus minutes past our pick up time. They did give me tickets for free sandwiches however while I waited I noticed there were others customers likely in my same place, missing sandwiches and not speaking up. I actually had time to eat mine before we finally got the hot one. Atmosphere got a 3 because while the staff was great with customers with each other was lacking. Haven sat in the store for 40 minutes, I got an interesting observation on how jersey Mike's operates as well as this team's operations."
"Jersey Mikes is a “sub below”. I really had high hopes for the augusta location. When they first opened the quality was there 100%. Over time the restaurant has declined significantly. I always order a turkey and roast beef sub with bacon and mikes way. The last 3 times in a row the meat has been so scarce. Maybe 3 paper thin slices of turkey folded over and maybe 2 slices of paper thin roast beef. So thin I can barley taste the meat in the sandwich. I even brought this up quietly to a worker as I wasn’t sure if this was a corporate move to save money or a specific location issue. Well nothing changed even after bringing up the concern to a worker. It was the same let down as the times before. I am a man and I want a real sub with a hefty amount of turkey and roast beef when I go here. That’s what all of us want. I never write these reviews but I have been so disappointed from what used to be my favorite restaurant that I had to comment. I will never go to a Jersey Mikes again."
"I have been waiting for a Jersey Mike's to open in the area since I moved back to Augusta in 2015. Then when the sign went up I waited another 6 months for it to finally open. I was not disappointed. Hands down the best sandwiches in the area (And I say that as someone originally from the area who regularly defends the local food establishments.) I visited on the second day they were open and while opening days can usually be a lot of trial and error this wasn't the case. The staff was fast and pleasant, My order was correct and I actually spent less than I would have had I opted for a less healthy option. I will be back often. EDIT: November 2023 This place is not the same as it was when it opened. Clearly they brought in ringers from other stores because everything used to be great. I usually visit about once a week. The last three times I have visited it’s been complete disarray. I understand it’s hard to get new employees and they need to train on the job but it’s not getting better it’s getting worse. Twice I have been on weekend late afternoons and both times there were multiple staff standing around in the back while one staff member tried to keep up with customers in the store and to go orders. There is one girl who seems like she must be the shift leader trying to delegate but it seemed like the other employees were just blowing her off. As you can imagine this made it so my pickup order was half hour late the first time and twenty minutes late the second time. I literally would have gotten faster service had I walked in to order at the counter. That said the food was correct and still good I just don’t expect picking up a sandwich to take an hour (20 minute order window and the half hour plus wait in the store after my pickup window). I thought maybe it was just the weekend so I decided to order pickup for lunch ordered for 10 thirty so should be pre lunch rush. It seemed a little better but I still had to wait after my pickup time that said there were already several people in the store and it seemed like staff was arriving when I was waiting. The disappointment in this visit though was that I ordered a salad and the guy making it clearly didn’t know what he was doing and needs to be retrained. Instead of it being prepared like it’s supposed to with the meat and cheese being rolled up and cut before being placed on the top so it can be eaten I literally got whole slices of meat and cheese layer down with a bunch of veggies on top like he was planning to make a sandwich and just removed the bread. Then proceeded to while mayonnaise over the top of the whole thing with a knife….. I’m honestly not even sure how to go about eating this right now. Please please please refrain you staff on how all the other stores do this."
"I ordered the giant #6 (Roast beef with Provolone). The sub was pretty good with a decent amount of meat. Could've used a bit more cheese and the wheat roll wasn't the freshest but still pretty good. My only complaint was the girl slicing the meat looked like she really didn't want to be there. No smile or friendly greeting."
