"By the beach clam box with parking across the street. View would have been so nice during sunset and sunrise hours. The food portions were large enough for two people to share and lightly seasoned. They have condiments on the side near the utensils for you to grab for free. I got the kids fish and chips and a bowl of clam chowder. I was too full to finish the fish and chips but I also wanted oysters which they didn’t have. I would have to try it again as a treat some other time as I feel like there weren’t any options for me personally. I would rather pay for another clam chowder rather than the fish and chips. The clam chowder was really good! The clams didn’t have any sand which was a bonus! The steak tip salads sounded really good too! We went at noon and the place was pretty empty so plenty of seating for everyone."
"Old school fried seafood. Like a return to Howard Johnson's clam strips, only these were really good. Well seasoned and not greasy, meaty. Cole slaw was creamy and not overly heavy. Fish chowder was silky and creamy. Broiled scallops were also fresh and good. Castle Island White and Be Hoppy paired well with the seafood"
"Clam Box. Wallaston Beach, Quincy, MA. e.1968. Pictures self-explanatory. We got the plattah and the chowdah. Fried stuff especially good, chowdah is a bit rich and not quite briny and clammy enough but still pretty good. Can't beat the view."
"First time visiting the clam box. I’ve always wanted to go since it looks like a nice spot in a great location with parking. I came for the fried whole belly clams which were good but their friend scallops stole the show. I had a side of onion rings (good) and fries. The fries are hard to describe but they taste like ones at a Chinese buffet (no flavor and straight up fried potato). Anyway the scallops were AMAZING! I’d try one of their other sides next time. Prices were really good and food was ready fast."
"Lovely place to have NE style seafood. I usually go here for whole belly clams. Never satisfied because I’ve had better, but not too bad either. Fried fish was good. I do like their clam chowder a lot! Asked for beer and they said they don’t have the license yet. Extremely busy on the weekends. You would have to stand in a long queue to place your order. Beautiful location."
