"The food was DELICIOUS!! I got the fried scallop plate and the scallops were HUGE, sweet and delicious. The fries were good too. Small portions, big prices, counter staff wasn't particularly friendly or nice, but the scallops were worth it."
"Got the calamari there with clam cakes. The calamari was the worst i have ever had EVER and i live in Rhode Island and eat calamari often. There was maybe 12 rings equivalent to maybe 2 squid bodies at a cost of $13.00 and it was like chewing on a rubber band. There was actually more banana peppers than calamari in the order. The clam cakes were good but did not have almost any clams in them. The food was a lot better when they were located in High St."
"The lobster roll was delicious (30 dollars the average sandwich)! Lot of tasty meat! Nothing special but lobster flavor is "unique" so I enjoyed every bite. I can not say the same of the coleslaw. Little portion and it wasn't delicious, just ok. French fries really good! But I am not fan of those. So I suggest more salad and less fries. My daughter ate the jumbo shrimps and she loved her lunch. My boyfriend and my son ordered fish and chips and they were ok with that. I watched people stopping for the lobster roll and for a special lunch for 2 (clam chowder soup and clam cakes) 14 dollars for a couple. I didn't try that I like the idea. Customer service was great. The young boy in the register machine was so kind and polite. He took the order and he wanted to be sure that everything was OK. Thank you!!!!"
"(CAUTION, THE FISH IN THE FISH AND CHIPS ARE NOT WHAT YOU THINK) So me and my friend decided to go to Benny's to order some quick lunch. Upon entering the shack I smell what smells like death itself. Benny which I’m assuming whoever is at the register was rude and had a bad temper (to the point where I don’t even know how it’s still in business). Upon looking at the menu we see how expensive and overpriced the food was, so we ordered I got the fish and chips and my friend got clam chowder. Before Benny yelled at us to go and wait outside I see at the corner of my eye what looks like a dog sized rat run under a table in the back. I walk out in horror, after walking outside we see how nasty the tables were they were covered in bird poop and were all sticky and gross. Also under two of them were yellow jacket nests, besides all that we go to the only somewhat clean table available. After waiting an hour for food it finally came, it was practically thrown at us by the worker. Any way we both look down in pure horror as we see a disgusting putrid sight in my box was a whole fish with mild breading on it it smelled absolutely disgusting and rotten ( almost threw up on spot) I got my “fries” in a separate container they looked god awful also and the smell was of rotten potatoes, they were also wet and slimy and were literally raw. Also I swear Benny had a mental outlash on one of his workers as I saw an unknown white substance fly across the kitchen hitting a worker in the face. My friend received his tray of what was supposed to be clam chowder, we here’d from one of the workers that they ran out and had to compromise for it it was just disgusting (pictures will be posted). After throwing our biohazards in the woods we go inside to get drinks I get a coke and my friend a ginger ale I opened the coke and to my surprise there were what looked like coffee grinds in my coke it smelled awful also I ended up breaking it open and saw black liquid with random objects inside. My friend said his ginger ale was salty and he felt weird drinking it so we threw those out also. It was a total waste of money. After getting home I instantly felt nauseous and threw up I knew it was from the food, the next day I went to the doctor and found that I needed to be hospitalized for botulism and an e.coli infection it was terrifying and I might be suing never go here unless you want to have a close to death experience."
"Wow! Benny’s blew our expectations out of the water! We used to live in Rhode Island but moved away and we were back in the area visiting. In the mood for clam shack type food and without the patience for the line at Monahan’s, my husband and I had dinner at Benny’s. We got the snail salad, fish tacos, and clam chowder and everything was excellent. Snail salad was super fresh and chowder was superb (dill was a nice touch!). The fish tacos were next level! After my husband’s first taco, we ordered a second order of fish tacos to go. I wish we would have gotten a side of the slaw, it made the tacos. We will be back the next time we are in the area! Skip the line, go to Benny’s. It’s not to be missed!"
