Back Alley Productions, located at 105 Marcy Street in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is dedicated to creating high-quality and thought-provoking theater for the community. Founded in 2008, Back Alley Productions has been showcasing the amazing talents of the New Hampshire Seacoast through their productions.

One of their notable productions was the courageous story of WWII Female Pilots in Decision Height by Meredith Dana Levy in May 2016. They also celebrated their 10th anniversary with a performance of Peter Shaffer’s Equus at the Players’ Ring Theatre.

Currently, Back Alley Productions is presenting Equus from March 2 to 18 at the Players Ring Theatre. The play follows the story of psychiatrist Dr. Martin Dysart and a boy named Alan Strang who has blinded six horses in a fit of passion. This psychological puzzle leads to a complex and dramatic confrontation between doctor and patient.

Jordan Formichelli, a local actor and performer, will be starring in Equus as Nurse/Horse. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $18 with discounts available for students, seniors, and Players’ Ring members.
