"We were here visiting the inn as part of the Vermont Country Inns Holiday Tour to support the local food bank. We did not stay over but did have a chance to walk through the inn including some of the guest rooms. The rooms we saw were very pretty and could make for a nice weekend away."
"South Shire is an elegant inn. Our bedroom was gorgeous, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Everything was spotless. And, there is a wonderful Thai restaurant in the dining room downstairs. We had dinner there, which was truly scrumptious! We will definitely be back!!"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at South Shire! Great house with antique furnishings and great ambiance. Perfect home base to explore Bennington and southern Vermont. The breakfast was amazing! Scrumptious Belgian waffles with berries and local syrup one day and a tasty frittata the other. Also you should try the Thai restaurant one evening-outstanding!"
"What a beautiful space - comfortable, historic, fun and welcoming! We loved our stay, especially enjoying coffee on the porch. Would recommend to anyone stopping in southern VT."
