"Please seek a second opinion before deciding upon surgery with Dr. Bennett. There are likely much better doctors available to do this surgery. Read all of his reviews, take a look at his professional past and how often he has moved from one city to another, one hospital to another. Your initial impression of him as being arrogant and even defensive is correct, he is both. He will not even mention the possibility of a mini-Whipple which is much better on the body than a full Whipple - you'll get to keep your entire stomach but he just wants the surgery and doesn't care to let you know the reality which is that he and his hospital are not as capable as other institutions. You'll want to go to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. If you have a distaste towards them for any reason, you can't go wrong at Penn."

Recommended to me by my GI Dr. At first I wasn't really thrilled with his suggestion for surgery but as time passed I had to make a decision for a very extensive surgery. "Dr.Bennett was supposed to remove my Gallbladder laproscopicly but had issues and had to use the open method of removal, after several months I had recurring symptoms that were worse than before Gallbladder removal at this time I went to Dr. Bennett for relief and he was completely dismissive of my complaints up to and including verbal abuse, even after Imaging showed there was something in there.( in his office notes he said visit was strained and I was derogatory to him about surgery) I wouldnt have gone back to him if I didn't want him to help me. I went for second opinion from another Christiana surgeon , he was nice but unwilling to second guess Dr. Bennett. I was told I needed ERCP done by GI Doctor. After this was explored it was told to me that it was not possible to fix my problem in the method suggested by Dr. Bennett. In the end I went to University of Pennsylvania Hospital where they quickly came to the conclusion that Dr.Bennett had left a remnant behind of my Gallbladder that had to be removed (the size of a really big thumbnail) with four stones inside and inflamed and a real mess . The moral of the story is Dr. Bennett refused to believe that he could have any responsibility for my issues, and all I wanted was the problem fixed. Penn Medicine , wow that's all I can say. Dr .Vollmer is one of the best in the country and I was lucky to have him."

"Dr. Bennett is an AWESOME!! Doctor. In 2010 Dr. Bennett and his team of doctors did surgery on me, that was amazing and I know that God was with him in the operating room. I had a Very Large Mass, which we were able to find out that was NOT Cancer, it was a miracle. He was patient with myself, my husband and my children.
