"I started going to DR. Silk in February 2018. At first I loved her, she didn't judge me when I told her I hadn't been to a gyn in a long time, she was nice and her bedside manner was great. I have a fibroid in my uterus that needed to be removed. so after a lot of testing, we scheduled it for September. In October after numerous phone calls with no response, I had to book an appointment with her and pay out of my pocket to ask why I still hadn't had surgery. Her answer was there was a scheduling conflict and then she had a family emergency and then she forgot and totally dropped the ball. I was scared to have the surgery so dummy me let it slide. So we rescheduled for January and my insurance plan wasn't good and wasn't covering a majority of the surgery. I found that out the day before surgery....surprise. My husband got a new job and we received better insurance so once again I reschedule surgery. I walk into her office she comes in says I'm sorry etc and lets get this finished you have been waiting so long. We both open our calendars and decide on June 7th. Gets me past my daughters prom and dance recital. I'm all set, or so I thought. I'm a hairstylist so I tell all of my guests I'll be out 6 to 8 weeks, I set them up with coworkers and I'm ready. The day before surgery I still haven't heard from anyone. I have no time, I don't know if I stop eating at a certain point, I don't know if I can have anything to eat or drink in the am so I call the office. After being put on hold twice to look at the schedule, DR. Silk's scheduling coordinator gets on the phone and basically tells me I'm crazy. They have no time set up for me, where did I get my info from, they don't do surgeries on Fridays only Thursdays, So I tell her Dr. Silk and I discussed it. She tells me my last scheduled surgery date was January 11th. I ask her if that is 100% correct and did she schedule it? She tells me yes and then I ask her why it is a Friday if they NEVER book surgeries on Friday? She then knows she is wrong and makes a comment about me trying to have a pricey surgery and no insurance. I tell her I'm done with her and that Dr. Silk needs to call me asap and she said I can't guarantee that she will call. Well I now should be 5 weeks into recovery and still no word from DR. Silk. I 100% believe in signs and my gut was telling me not to do this even though I need the surgery. Something just made me feel uneasy about it. Like my grandmom always said trust your gut feelings. They always steer you in the right direction. I now have started over with a new Dr. that I feel 100% confident with. I gave 1 star only because the site made me. In my opinion she shoudn't be in practice anymore."
"I had an awful experience during labor, I was in labor for 28 hours with no Doctor supervision, I had only a midwife that didn’t help me at all, I was in so much pain and my Doctor Maanasi Silk got there after 28 hours and suggested me to get a Csection done because the baby’s position wasn’t helping. Couple weeks after getting a Csection done I started having hemorrhage, went to the emergency room and they couldn’t figure it out, went back for two ultrasounds and finally had to Pay for a D&C procedure. After all the stress and putting my life and the baby in dangerous I was left with a Peace of PLACENTA inside me after a C-Section and left with a $3000 bill. I’ve been trying to get justice and get my money back after all the psychologic stress and disrespect I was left it. It’s such a shame how they treat their pacientes and how they deal with LIFE!"
"My experience with this office was a disaster from Day 1. My GP suggested an IUD (and would have been glad to place it herself, but my insurance would only cover an OBGYN). So I went in search of a new doctor. I made an appointment with midwife Ann Riley-Spoltore in what I thought was the Court House office. When I got there, there was no sign anywhere indicating a gynecologist worked there. After asking around, I was sent to the Cardio office. The receptionist curtly asked for my paperwork. I said I was told to come 15 minutes early to fill it out. She spent a couple minutes rolling her eyes and complaining that someone was supposed to mail me paperwork, then handed me 10 pages to fill out. In the middle of doing so, I was called in by the medical assistant (who was the only kind, bright spot in this experience). She spent a couple minutes filling in my file on the computer and said I didn't even need to fill out the paperwork because it technically wasn't their office—they rent space once a week. So it turned out my insertion appointment would need to be in their main office in Somers Point (40 minutes away). No one had told me. Ann Riley-Spoltore came in and I told her why my doctor thought an IUD was the next move. She looked at me like I was crazy, then gave me misinformation (like that IUDs contain estrogen, which they don't, and that people don't have heavy-bleeding issues with Paragard—just do a quick Google search), then did a very quick, painful exam. I was told to call the Somers Point office to set up insertion. They sent me a form to fill out that they would send to my insurance. I call back after a couple of weeks to see what the next step is, and they haven't even sent the form. They say they will, and my insurance will call. Two weeks go by without a peep, so I call my insurance. They have no record of the form. I call the doctor's office, and they say that a week ago they found out that the insurance would only cover "buy and bill." I said "First, I don't know what that is, and second, no one bothered to call to tell me!" Their notes said Ann Riley assigned someone to call me, but the receptionist didn't know what happened. "Buy and bill" means that they have to buy the IUD, then bill my insurance later. Which shouldn't have been a problem since my insurance has said multiple times that they cover the device and insertion completely. But she told me I'd have to find another gynecologist—they don't do "buy and bill." So months later, I'm back at square one. Meanwhile, I'm paying $75 a month for a pill that causes me problems, waiting for this mess of an office. I've had some annoying experiences with doctors' offices before, but this takes the cake. They are disorganized, unprofessional, and clearly don't give a damn about their patients."
"Love the entire staff. Wait is never long"
