"All Good!! I had a very encouraging and confidence-building visit to Rennwerke Porsche Technicians shop this week. They evaluated, serviced, and NY-inspected a 2015 Macan-S. The work was done efficiently and at a fair price, relative to a local Porsche dealer service. Many thanks to Cheech, Pam and the Technical Staff. I will be back!!"
"A great Porsche repair shop, and the inside looks like a Porsche and racing museum. I think it is a blessing that we have Rennwerke shop in our area. The service was done on time and within the discussed budget. The car is running well. Will come again. Many thanks to Cheech and his team."
"This is a highly-regarded shop in the area, so I was unprepared for the long (six month) expensive ($25,000) ordeal my 997 PDK repair turned into. Finally got the car back with outstanding issues I'll need to go elsewhere to resolve. OK, I understand these are complex mechanisms. But I can't excuse being billed for work (replacing the battery, $400+) that was simply never done. I know because I installed the existing battery myself less than a year ago. Now Cheech doesn't even return my calls."
"Update - First impressions go a long way, especially when it comes with the momentum of many previously positive reviews. Mine wasn’t great but Cheech (owner) called me personally to explain with some exasperation what services were rendered for the fifty dollar inspection. He explained they did a pre check for codes and the tech escorted my car to a third party location where the actual state inspection was run and upon passing and application of the sticker chaperoned the inspector to make sure it was applied neatly. This explanation was very appreciated but I wish it had come during the first impression. I’d have happily given a 5 star review and lauded their attention to detail like others have, instead of walking away feeling the way I did. In retrospect I’d like to upgrade my rating to 3.5 stars but if you’ve got more patience and a thicker skin than me I’d overwhelmingly suggest you try them out. My experience has left me with uncertainty if I’d go back but however quirky, they do have integrity and quality at heart. Initial - The shop is pretty cool but I wouldn't agree with some of the other reviews and call it immaculate. It's more like an enthusiasts shop called out of some romanticized memory. The techs seemed good natured and fairly professional. Now the reason I'm rating this two stars. The owner Cheech is a character for sure and comes off as relatively affable but more of a pat you on the back and don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out. I was ripped off today for a State inspection. The inspection was done pretty quickly but when it came time to pay he said $50 cash no card. I paid and left but realized when I looked at the inspection receipt it said $37. That is a State mandated fee. I might have been ok with it had I been told upfront it is the fee plus expediting cost. Just left a bad taste and many questions whether any future charges would be "fair" as some people have said. I have no illusions that having a Porsche can come with some steep expenses but anyone should expect fair and upfront. It's a shame I had this experience at a business that some hold in higher regard."
"I am now on my third air-cooled 911. Porsche cars aren't cheap to buy or to maintain properly. These guys don't claim to be the cheapest around, but they're fair and in terms of the value you get for the money, they are the best I've seen anywhere. When I got there to pick the car up, they put it back up on a lift and Melfi, the technician, dropped what he was doing and took me through everything they did on the car in detail. It was clear he was proud of his work and he had a right to be. I got the impression that everyone working there liked the shop and the cars. Anywhere else, you'd pay the bill, maybe get a couple of questions answered and be on your way. Cheech spent so much time with me, I was worried he had other things I was keeping him from doing. By the way, the car I picked up was a lot more fun to drive than the one I brought in. There are lots of mechanics. This shop is different for a lot of reasons. This is the only place I'll take my 88 911 Carrera going forward."
