"Coming from D.C. where land is limited, The Saint James is worth the drive for the sheer size of it. An expensive gym facility, the price may be worth it for their three level gym, two ice skating rinks, a water park, fields, courts, a kid area, and cafe. Friends who are members invited us to come using their guest passes one Saturday afternoon to use the indoor water park. My seven-year-old loved it. They also have a ninja course, ropes areas, and more for kids. There’s parking, but sometimes it can be hard to find a space on weekends. It’s a popular place!"
"Update.... read bottom... So, today is my son's birthday. We paid way too much money to have my son's birthday and for the sports package and not one person at the front desk knew what the sports package was for a birthday party. The picture shows that it's not a sports package. Also, the popcorn machine has old popcorn in it. We do not have the food that we ordered. The room was not clean. Me and the adults with kids that came, WE cleaned the rooms. The TV doesn't work. We are in Room 7 just in case anyone see this. Me and my wife paid way too much money for this place, and the service was not top-notch like it should be. Very disappointed. I had high hopes for this place and this was a big let down. Update: Thank you, Violeta, for correcting the problem. We are grateful for you. You are a big asset to St James."
"As a concert venue I have been there twice now and I would definitely not say there was any significant positives. You can’t wear stiletto shoes because of the type of flooring as it’s converted from a gym space, concessions are rather poor and you have to go up and down a lot of steps to get into the concert area and when you’re dressed to impress that can be a challenge. The sound is not particularly great. This was my second New Year’s going there and quite honestly the convenience is the main selling point as it’s less than 10 minutes from my home."
"Front desk is very rude, how disappointing. Younger asian male and short African American male (his boss) both were very disrespectful. They unfortunately had no clue what they were doing… and it’s sad such a high quality establishment can be ruined off the initial experience. Never going back. Couldn’t get their names. The two employee were on a complete power trip. The 28yr looking male seemed very passionate about his gym front desk role, as he should of course! but shouldn’t act like that :) Was given complimentary guests passes for my 1 month membership by one of the head event coordinator within St. James. Even told them his name and explained true whole situation. please learn respectful communication. How else would I have a guest pass on my wrist! instead you cause a scene. I’m getting my friends as well as my self to switch to LA Fitness. There’s about 6 less memberships in one day because of these guys."
"The facility is top tier beautiful and there is a lot of good but also a lot of flaws with membership services. They over promise when signing up and make it overly difficult to cancel. When signing up, childcare was sold as a member perk (left out that the child needs to have their own membership) it was also said the members got to use the ice rink (but then it was only one day a week) - signing up came with a list one one time offers but I had to pull up my initial email every single time because they’re not attached to your membership account. It just felt really messy. To cancel I had to keep sending their own emails back to them to reference what was discussed. Weekends there were a nightmare and many times after circulating the parking lot multiple times I left. If you’re just using the gym equipment facilities $135/month started to feel like overkill when other gyms give you more for significantly less. It’s beautiful and I think if you live really close and use more than gym equipment it’s worth it. I will miss the cold eucalyptus towels."
