"The store was clean, employees were friendly and helpful. No complaints!"

"I had a shopping while black experience, at this store yesterday evening as I picked up hair products because the hair store next door was closed. From other comments I see this is a normal practice here. I am beyond disgusted and therefore, do not see a need to go into my full experience; instead I am looking for action. All African-Americans should stop shopping at Family Dollar stores and all stores in our neighborhoods that treat us as if we are less than. Aren’t y’all tired of hearing an automated announcement of “you are being monitored” when we simply just walk into the store? That’s our welcoming for shopping in their store and spending our money that we’ve worked for. So, where do we get our products? At any other store that doesn’t treat us like criminals. Example: Amazon is a huge supplier and can deliver same day, shop there. I’m asking African-Americans, people of color to truly take a stand against being treated as if we are unbefitting to be treated with dignity and respect."

"The things in the store was nice except for being constantly followed around the store both me and my mother. Then was questioned about a soda we had in the bottom of our own personal cart. I told her we didn't get the soda from here we got it from dollar tree. Which is right next door, but she wants to be persistent saying no that's over a $1.25. She was being smart when my mom walked away. IT TOOK MY MOM TO COME BACK, and a receipt for her to finally stop saying it. The one who followed us around was the same one who rung us up. She was a short Caucasian women, missing teeth and with black hair."

"I really like this store. It is never extremely crowded and the cashiers are very nice. Whatever I need is always in stock and of course, the prices are reasonable."
