"Such a great place to stay!! So beautiful!! And centrally located to everything. We brought our lab and they were so accommodating dog bowl, dog bed, dog friendly areas. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable!! Room was really cool, loved the complimentary candy closet!!! Staff were amazing and so friendly! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend staying here. Also the homemade choc chip cookies.. huge plus!"

"I had an absolutely incredible stay at The George Inn in Montclair, NJ, and it deserves nothing less than 5 stars! The highlight of my visit was the impeccable service provided by Regan. From the moment I checked in, Regan went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was not only comfortable but truly memorable. Her warm and friendly demeanor, combined with her attention to detail, made me feel like a valued guest throughout my entire stay. I must also commend Manager Erika (Hopefully I spelled it correctly) for overseeing such a well-run establishment. Her dedication to maintaining high standards is evident in every aspect of the hotel, from the beautifully appointed rooms to the top-notch amenities. It's clear that under Erika's leadership, The George Inn strives for excellence in hospitality. The George Inn, exceeded my expectations in every way, and Regan's exceptional service, along with Manager Erika's guidance, played a significant role in making my stay unforgettable. I can't wait to return and experience their hospitality again. It's a true gem in Montclair!"

"The George is a very boutique, standout little place with a practiced eye for aesthetics and mood. The highlights can be read in other reviews, such as the way each room is entitled with a first name (Dylan, Duke, Eli, etc.), and contains photos and design features which bring to mind various people with that name. There's also the "secret" floor-to-ceiling candy closet in the library (who doesn't love a secret panel in a library?), which will be a hit with the kids, and a wine tasting in that same library in the evenings. The staff could not have been kinder or more solicitous of our wellbeing; there was almost no need to request assistance with anything, but they sought us out anyway to make sure we were comfortable. We had the Dylan room, which adjoined the Duke room. Both rooms shared a conmon vestibule of sorts, with a small, 1950s-style mini fridge and a sink in it. I am not sure what the etiquette is in sharing a small mini fridge with another room, but I don't think either of us used it. Our room itself was beautiful, with a lot of exposed brick and an electric fireplace which looked genuine. They even left us a bottle of champagne in honor of our anniversary! The bed and bedding were very comfortable, and we slept very well there. My only critical notes about the room were that the shower drained pretty slowly, and probably needs some attention. Additionally, the toilet paper was of a fairly thin and flimsy quality, which was surprising considering the high quality of the soaps and shampoos. Everything else was fresh, clean and luxurious. There is even a free breakfast included in your stay, with some good coffee, pastry, eggs, fruits, cereals and breads. I would highly recommend a stay here for an off-the-beaten-track hotel experience for the New York City visitor or New Jersey traveler who doesn't want to just park at one of many identical chain hotels/motels. It is truly an elegant, unique place."

"The perfect place to stay in Montclair. It’s about $80 taxi from the airport. The sign isn’t overly obvious but driver didn’t have trouble finding it. The door is locked so the service desk comes to open the door. The room was comfortable and quiet. Bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean with plenty of hot water. I was able to get Doordash delivered to the hotel. There’s a lovely sitting room with wine. If I weren’t exhausted from a long flight, I would have spent time there. Free candy, though!"

"I can’t give enough stars to The George and its incredible staff. My wife surprised me with a weekend getaway for my birthday and we were absolutely amazed by the accommodations and service. We stayed in the plush Duke room, with its stately fireplace and cozy couch, just across the way from a luxurious salon full of candy, wine and snacks, all gratis. From the delicious breakfast with local breads and savory treats, to the hotel’s perfect location, it was a weekend we won’t soon forget. Special kudos to Erica who took care of us like family. Thanks, George. We’ll be back!"
