Parkwood Apartments

"God knows I really want to love this place! I remember now why I left the first time. The community has the potential to be great but as always each community has folks who just don't care about how they live. The trash is out of order! I don't know why for the life of me that people cannot put their trash in the trash can. And why can't they pick up behind their dogs?! It is so damn sad on so many levels. Every Sunday, I find myself cleaning my building on the first floor and the landing, because, I am very embarrassed by how my neighbors keep our building. I mean I am mopping the floors!!! On another note, I am very disappointing that no one has answer any service orders that I have submitted to date. I called the office a few times to follow-up on things and I always walk away feeling as if I just disturbed someone for asking them to take care of an apartment that I am paying over $1,400 per month to rent. Other than those things, I love the apartment. It has so much living space and a washer and dryer which is what I needed the most."

"Been living there 2 yrs. Development has been there 40 yrs. Rent is ridiculous.i pay close to $1200 a month for a rentavated 1 bedroom. It's pretty much like living in the projects."

"I lived here three years ago. Maintenance and cleanliness were awful.They claimed to only send emailed receipts of rent but were never sent. They kept telling me that my rent was late (rent was made on the 1st every month on time) and would not listen when I had videos of sending my checks through the slot. They had Five Months of my rent checks sitting in their Office! Will not acknowledge their mistake and my rent history is ruined. They also charged me $400 to "remove" the incident from my file and never did. They robbed me of $400. Thanks Parkwood!"

"Staff does not care about your well being I was not showed my apartment until I already sign a lease, And in comparison to the “model” apartment it was...not what I expected. Looked very lived in and the only repair they made was slapping another layer of paint on. The washer takes multiple uses to dry and when I asked someone to come fix it he just said “do smaller loads”. Feeling safe is questionable here, the first couple of weeks living here a woman was trying to open my door for over an HOUR, she was yelling at me to open the door. Multiple times during my stay here I have seen people trying to open my door. living here just keep everything locked. The residents that live here are nice and kind for the most part in my experience, like I said the walls are thin so especially in my living room there can be a lot of noise. I definitely do not plan to live at Parkwood forever mostly because I do not feel peace here. The rent is pretty high but you do get a lot of space, but honestly can get a much better deal renting a home then an apartment. Definitely see if you can see your unit before signing a lease. However nothing is worth more then feeling safe. Being able to hear people on the street from my bedroom really bothers me and the fact that I’ve seen multiple times someone try to open my door is really concerning."

"Many Many ways this place could improve I will name a few..... Kinder employees who run your offices and are truthful with tenants is a wonderful start. I’ve been living in Parkwood for three years and most it has been unpleasant experiences. The rent is over priced.... nothing for neighborhood children to do so they go around destroying things and property .. lots of criminal activity. Police started being in the complex more frequently towards the end of my stay and it made me feel unsafe, not safe at all. (Those things need to be addressed) They move anyone in and don’t properly clean the building stairwells and or common areas. The nicest guy I met was Joe when I first moved in he made sure things were taken care of for me. The staff move / turnover rate is so much it’s ridiculous, and once a maintenance guy came Into my apartment WITHOUT my permission I just happened to be home. That’s when I knew I had to go. The only good thing is the size of the apartment.... and when you dealing with all the Cons screw size right!!! There are much better places to rent from in Salisbury. When I moved out 4 others I’m my building moved out as well. All in the same month, that says a lot. They told me the bad someone moving into my apartment Friday but tried to charge me a full months rent. Smh."
