The Mayfair Apartments

"Please do not consider this apartment! I lived here from 2018-2021 and was sorely disappointed in the management company time and time again. My apartment, which was located on the top floor, was riddled with mold - primarily in the kitchen and bathroom. I raised this concern to the management company several times, and each time it was addressed with air fresheners. At one point I had mushrooms growing on my wall for over 1 month before they were scraped off the walls. An odor of sewage constantly wafted from my kitchen sink despite hours of cleaning. At times the odor was so strong I felt nauseous and had to leave the apartment for the night. The ceiling in the hallway outside my unit collapsed and was hastily repaired. I mentioned the still sagging ceiling to management, and it was never addressed. A leak in my bedroom roof was not addressed for 13 days. The water was frequently off for emergency repairs. I tried to end my lease months early, but the management company complicated and lengthened the process to the point that they would not have to lose any money. Most egregiously, in the winter of 2019, the heat was broken for 7 days during 20-30 degree weather, and we had to pay full rent. There have recently been several changes to the appearance of the building, but as a health care professional, I feel it is my duty to warn prospective tenants that this building poses serious health risks. "Was thinking about applying to this place. Tried to call the leasing office never can get through. No one ever answers the phone. Huge red flag!!!"

"I had the same experience as Lolita had. I actually signed up for the apartment but every time I called , it took days and me calling four times to be called back. I spoke with someone from the main office who was rude and said to call the complex. Yet it took days for them to return my calls. I figured if they were that poor at follow up before I moved in, what would they be like after I moved in. I found another apartment where things went much smoother."

"What's good: The maintenance guy Justin is super friendly and apartment issues have always been sorted out on time, regular timely maintenance. The new management keeps trying to do something different time to time. Overall a good value to money to rent. Location is walkable distance to trolley square and brandywine zoo and no incidents in apartment during my stay"
