The Buckingham Motel

"This is a great "motel" directly across from the ocean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed 5 days . The room was very clean, floor had no carpet but a nicely patterned, hard finish material which was a delight for me because I knew it was clean. The air quality was fresh, the AC was somewhat noisy but it did not seem to interfere with my sleep. The kitchenette was clean, very functional, and in good working order. I totally enjoyed my stay there! Nico and Crystal, you are the best, I made an error in the booking dates and Crystal worked it out...thanks again! I plan on staying here often."

"I had the pleasure of staying there with my sister last week. The staff is so kind and accommodating. Once we got there we decided on a room on the more scenic side which use no problem. We’ve stayed there before under a different management which we had great service with them too. We will be repeat patrons."

"Cannot say enough positive things about this place. Many people have a negative connotation when they hear the word "motel". They think dirty, old, run down. That is a stigma that is far from accurate when describing The Buckingham Motel. It is easily the most affordable place to stay in Cape May by a few hundred dollars at least! The accommodations were exactly what we needed, nothing more, nothing less. The location was great. Directly across the street from the beach. Far enough away from the bars and restaurants that provide live entertainment on the weekend so you weren't bothered by noise, but close enough to easily walk to one of those places if you wanted. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable. They are able to reduce their costs by only having their front office open during the day; but if you encounter an issue when the office is closed, there is still a number you can call. They also reduce costs by not having a daily housekeeping service. Great, I don't need someone coming in every day making the bed for me, etc. If you need fresh towels, you just have to leave your old ones in a provided bag outside of your door before noon. The woman working the front desk when we checked in was so friendly and so helpful. She provided a map to us, pointed some things out and made some suggestions. If we ever find ourselves in Cape May again, we would hands down stay at The Buckingham Motel again!"

"5/5 Stars! Great location on Beach Ave., right across from the beach. Room 12 was a good size for 2 people! AC worked so well on our muggy days. Always felt safe there! Would totally recommend this place, and would totally come back again!!"

"FANTASTIC! Great location- right across from the beach, clean room, comfortable bed, bigger than average mini-fridge with a working freezer in the room, plenty of hot water in the shower, perfectly functioning A/C, very nice outdoor common space with grills for those who want to use them & plenty of Adirondack-style chairs to relax… plus excellent customer service- easy check-in, check-out. It’s not fancy, but it doesn’t pretend to be, which is why I gave it 5-stars- it’s exactly as advertised, if not better. It’s perfect for active travelers who want to enjoy the beach or local sites/activities and who want a clean, comfortable, friendly place to stay and relax. The two people I met in the office were both very nice and very knowledgeable about the Cape May area- restaurants, natural areas, historical places to see etc. My only regret was that I couldn’t stay longer!"
