"Probably should have expected the poor rooms but there was minimal hotel availability for a one night stay in January. The staff was very nice and the location was great but the room was tiny and very sparsely finished (not even any nightstands). Really seems like they didn’t want to invest anything to make the rooms nice. In addition, they stop serving breakfast before noon on Sundays. The schedule indicated that they served breakfast until 12 but when we got there at 11:55 they were only serving lunch."
"This was one of our best vacations! I cannot wait to go back. This staff is amazing especially Dodo. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the rooms were very spacious and clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. If I had to say one thing that was negative it would be that since we were the only guests in the hotel it would have been nicer if we had a room where we could see the beach instead of looking at the buildings next door. Also as other people have said it would be nice to have better window coverings because the sunlight is very bright and wakes you up very early."
"This is a highly original Victorian sea side inn, and some will be put off by the size and shape of the rooms, thus our 3 star rating ;however, the daily rate is very moderate. Also of note, high quality towels , linens and mattresses more than compensate for room size . The hotel is well staffed, and the hotel is consistently serviced. We dined at the bar and sampled much of the menu....the food is excellent, and portions are more than ample. New decor and upgrades make the public rooms both attractive and reminiscent of the Victorian period. The hotel deserves a loyal patronage, as the architecture and style of such structures require huge investments to keep them in good repair."
"We lived in Cape May for 35 years but sold our home there during the fake pandemic. We went back last week to visit and stayed at the Inn of Cape May. What an absolute delight! The check in hostesses were so courteous and the restaurant staff were delightful. We had breakfast every morning greeted by Michelle with coffee and a delicious filling breakfast. The room was so quaint reminding us of the Cape May we knew when we first arrived in the early sixties. Anyone who wants experience the old Cape May should stay here. The warm fire greeted us every night when we arrived “home!” We stayed five nights and what five nights they were: cozy, hospitable and genuine. Thanks for a great getaway back home."
"Everything was perfect! The room was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and we loved the entertainment on the porch. The Inn is quaint and charming and gave us the perfect Cape May Victorian experience. And the staff... absolutely every one of them were kind, helpful and friendly and we were made to feel welcome and appreciated. We loved the complimentary lemon water and with it, did not feel the need to rent a mini fridge. The beach service and breakfast vouchers were great amenities and definitely key when comparing the room rates with other places. I will admit though, that it will be nice to have a tv in our room. My family has been staying at the Inn since 1995, but left a few years ago when the previous owners began getting cranky, customer service deteriorated and began letting maintenance slide. The new owners are doing an amazing job at bringing the place back to life and I couldn't be more excited to once again, make the Inn our annual vacation destination for years to come."
