"IGNORE REVIEWS PRIOR TO THIS ONE! The current owners bought the building in poor condition from a 100 year old pack-rat woman just 7 months ago. Given being a historic preservationist, I see the prior reviews and the tremendous improvements in the past 7 months. The current owners are restoring the ENTIRE building. What has been done in 7 months is remarkable! Some rooms are available, other still under renovations. Parlor and entrance are perfect. DIRECTLY from old New Castle County Courthouse. EXTREMELY REASONABLE at $130/night as they rebuild the reputation. 5+ stars! Within walking distance to great food, history, waterfront! A true gem in the rebirth of the Historic District! (Yes, all renovations are being done to NPS Guidelines). I'll be back! Best to James!!! Ed Buchinski"

"I can’t say enough great things about my experience at the Terry House! There isn’t a better place I could have stayed to escape a long week in the city to learn about our first state. The entire house is stunning, inside and out. I was lucky enough to stay in one of the most recently renovated rooms, a jungle themed paradise. The room was pristine. The decor is gorgeous. Upon walking inside, there was calming safari music playing on the TV. I felt like I was in heaven. The location is unbeatable, especially for history buffs. The house is across the street from the New Castle Court House Museum, one of six sites that comprise First State National Historic Park. And it’s wonderfully quiet area. I was relaxed and at ease the entire time. I would 100% stay here again, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a peaceful getaway!"

"Our stay at the Terry House was wonderful. The house and rooms are beautifully decorated with distinctive antiques. The owner's mom was just the sweetest! Lovely location near Battery Park on a quaint street. We will surely be back when visiting the area again."

"The Terry House is absolutely breathtaking. We were greeted by historic charm and beautiful detailed architecture and furnishings. Our room was Hummingbird themed with beautiful decorations through out, air conditioning, ceiling fan, TV, Internet access, a private updated bathroom, iron, wardrobe to hang clothes, and mini fridge. The downstairs living room has a coffee area, refreshments, and games. There’s ample parking available on both sides of the street. Terry House is walking distance from shops, the historic courthouse,park, and the pier. We enjoyed our stay in New Castle!"
